I have a beautiful Featherfin Catfish which I would like to give to a good home who can accommodate his size and needs. Reason being he/she is too big for my tank and is causing distress to the other tank mates because he dashes around. I am worried for his safety also as he sometimes damages...

Hi Morgan, thanks for your reply. Oh dear-stress. I am in the process of re-homing my Featherfin catfish which i believe is probably the cause of Plec's stress. He does have his favorite hiding places, so hopefully when he is the only big fish in the tank he can live happily with out changing...

Does any one know of a common Plec changing from his usual grey colour to a very pale sandy colour? I thought at first it was because he got a bit cooler when i did a water change...but he does it randomly at different times of the day and Im not sure if its normal or not. The colour changes...

totally agree, they munch everything and anything that will fit! (RIP some neons I bought before I knew...)

hiya In my experience they can exist in the same tank ok, but I am looking to re-home my featherfin because he is generally agressive but towards my Plec - do yours get on ok? The corys are quick enough to get out of the way when the Featherfin goes on the rampage and apart from just bashing...

Hiya, sounds like they are mating to me. When you noticed them behaving differently had you recently performed a water change? Apparantly the slight drop in water temperature can trigger the mating. The male and female dance around each other and end up in a 'T' position, the female then...

I had 2 of these and they both got severley bullied by their tank mates. It was my Platy that really took a dislike to them and used to 'peck' at them causing wounds like what you show in your pictures.
