i filter mine rigth away too after adding sand. The fister media became very yellowy with the sand dust, so i just rinsed it before i started the cycling.

mine today are... Amonia 0 (after 24 hours) tomorrow ill ahve tosee what it is after 12 hours sice I did not check in between Nitrites 5.0+ Nitrates 15 (tap) water temp now at 82 with air, i believe it is important to add air when going above 80 added 25 drops of ammonia today. after testing

u can test when ever you want, just sometimes there really no point. like the first day for instance. even though i did, because i.... ...well i know how you feel, so test away.

should i use this stuff to water i will be adding to the tank?? does it actualy work?? I have hard water and i am not sur eif i should use this stuff. I have have read that boiling water can get arid of the heavey metals? is this true??

mine was .75 amonia 4.0 Nitrite 20 Nitrates (darn Tap to high) looks like were on the same path. alsmost exactly. every update sounds the same. ill keep you up to date with mine. see who wins. water temp 80 and adding adding air at times

i have an external filter, what u mean print out??? like the fact that test kits are 27.99 in the store but lister for like 15.00 on there website?? It is a 20 gallon(US) and i dont know why it matters wher i live but, i live close to Philadelphia.

My tap water tests 15.0 Nitrates. Is this going to be a problem?? I will never beable to get my nitrates below25-30 when changing water.

thanks, but since i am fishless cycleing, I am wondering if I should add the fish sooner rather than later so that the bacteria clonies dont shrink. and than have to rebuild?

im gonan need help witht he peat thing too, where do you get it from?? and do you stick in filter i guess. I must lower my pH, as 8.2 is way to high for an fish i will add. I am also setting up an aqarium and have the same question about lowering ym pH

i think i will try to stock this scenario, as if there are any problem i will just have to transfer. I am no antispating my corys to grow to 3" more like 2-2.5, again, i will tranfer if i must. so.. 6 Black neons about 2 inches each = 12" 5 corys about 2.5 inches each = 12.5" 2 Rams...

i had 3 years ago and they were happy. I personally think it depends some times they need 5 and some time some groups are fine with 3. whats that orange fish in ur avatar.

8 fish living 4 years!! you must be a damn good fish keeper. not one loss of the original school. what is your pH?? mine is 8.2 from the tap. i probably going to have to bring in down to about 7.2 or lower for the Black Neons. I cant wait to get them. i tired of looking at an empty tank...
