Alarm of some sort sounds a good idea.

It’s easy to say that but when you tired after a hard day it’s going to get forgotten again. I just know it! Cannot think of another way to avoid it apart from not doing such a large water change now I don’t fertiliser the plants as much.

Dont know how i could get more peaceful set of fish, these are all community fish and got rid of a rtbs only a few weeks ago due to the harasment of the rams. Harlequins are the most recent additions with two more shrimp. had the rummies (sounds like a upset stomach) for months.

Sorry to confuse, they are flicking but no deaths as far as i am aware. They are about 3 to 4 weeks old and feeding well.

Was looking at sterazin but its impossible to remove the shrimp, in a heavy planted aquarium they would never be caught and they jump......need an alternative please....

Hi Wilder, Think Mrs Guppy is on her last fins, not eating tonight and having trouble maintaining balance :( Tonight will be make or break......I know guppies are not supposed to be the strongest of fish when i comes to fighting disease due to being so farm bred.

thanks, already think there is a possibility of it being Gyrodactylus but want to make sure rather than over reacting and dumping medicine in. No fish lost at moment so does it need treating if there is a problem?

Shrimps are great fun, constantly looking for scraps of food and waste they can eat. Shy for the first few weeks (may think you have lost them) then suddenly appear and become cheeky by grabbing food from under the fishes noses!

No its not bga, thank god! Its an algae that is restricted to the surface only so does not effect plants at moment. however when it covers the full surface the full light strength to plants is greatly reduced. Also a pain to feed fish as you need to make a hole before feeding with flake....
