I tried that.....they don't go up the vacuum....they just sorta float then drop...plus there are TONS of them....seriously....nearly as many snails as there are stones...and they are all over the plants, rocks, substrate and glass. :S

You could ask a question to the buyer - which is shown on the page - something like "Are you sure this is appropriate to keep a fish in - read somewhere that they need at least blah blah blah" - keep it naive looking it might also make prospective buyers think about doing some research.

Cave Blind Tetras rock. I have three, they are peaceful in the way that they don't attack other fish (I wonder if they could if they wanted to), but they are very active swimmers and are constantly darting about (and bumping into things). The females are a tad ugly though.

You need to get really hardy fish to cycle a tank. Most of the fish you have would probably not survive a cycle and if they did they wouldn't be healthy afterwards. Danio's are good for cycling - I have cycled two tanks with them now with no losses.

There is a certain amount of truth in a LFS not being able to check on every fish sold - i can imagine they sometimes assume that the people buying the fish know what they are doing and probably don't want to patronise people who do know what they're doing... But my LFS rocks. it doesn't matter...

I have used Danio's for both of my tanks and they all survived. Hardy little fella's, just make sure you do regular water changes, keep an eye on the stats or even consider doing a fishless cycle.

I use WS3 - It's pretty good and it just says for scaleless fish use a half does... I think half dose is the way to go. :)
