Hi there,

One of my Golden Danios looks like the skin is torn around his mouth - or peeling off, (it looks kinda white and fluffyish - similar to what was described in another post but I thought I better describe it better as these guys are white anyway if you know what i mean). Also his gills look a lot redder than the others (all of them have slightly pinkish gills as they are almost see-through but his are pretty red), and he kinda looks like he is gasping.

I am very worried I don't want another fish to die today as one of my cave blind tetras got lodged under a rock while I was out and was dead when I got back...

The only treatment I have is Myxazin (says it treats Fin rot, Ulcers, Sores and other bacterial infections). Should I use this? And should I treat the whole tank (I don't have a quarentine tank).

Thanks!

The mouth is mouth fungus, can you post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, how many fish and which type, plus size of tank in gallons or litres.
As red pinky gill can be poor water quality as well as parasites.

Alright, gimme a sec I'll go and test it now the water now...

As for the rest there are 5 Golden Danios in a 60L (16UK G) tank. W

Don't shoot me, but they are enduring a not-fishless cycle. I wasn't aware of any other way when I started....

Ok i would do an ammediate water change increase aeration, and add the med you mentioned.

Alright, here are the water conditions:

TH- 80
Alk - 80
PH - 6.7
No2 - 0.05 (ish)
No3 0
Amm - 0.5 - 1 (but the strip went kind greener at the edges - it's not supposed to do that).

Weirdly I had a look around for him again and I can't seem to spot him. I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine it but the symptoms aren't standing out anymore... I will keep looking though - they move so damn fast!

Need to do a water change 30% to get that nitrite reading down, increase aeration with the med, the gills are red because you are cycling the tank.

Good luck.
