I have never even seen seahorses for sale at a pet store or fish store... (I live in Arizona and I did live in NJ before this.. Where do you find them for sale?

How many plants do you have total... and these are in a 10 gallon tank correct? How many hours a day of light do they get? Can you provide any pictures?

you also have freshwater and salt water types... and some that like brakish water... There are some types that are used as live bait for fishing in the rivers or oceans.. (like back in NJ) Heck I even kept some and put them in one of my ponds back east... They did quite well there for about 2...

if you can cycle the water at twice the rate per hour.. 100 gallons per hour for a 50 gallon tub then yes you can have 4 or 5 2-3 inch comets. Start them off small and they will only grow to the size of your pond "tub" but I wouldn't put in 4 or 5 5-6 inch fish...heck I wouldn't put in more...

You can easily build a nice 1000 gallon pond about 10' X 6' C 2.5' with sides that make it difficult for cats to get any fish for under $1500 maybe for under $1000 if you do alot of the work yourself have some landscaping material in your yard that you can use and get your equipment on sale...

get a UV light definitly.. Also when you dig out the pond you will want t ohave a holding area to use as a natural filter it can then dump into your main pond via waterfall or stream. The filter you get will probably not be good enough by itself unless you get one that is for a much larger...

I asked this question in another area...but I will try it here.. Is it ok not to feed a porcupine puffer live food? I have only had my pufer for 2 weeks and so far I have only fed him just like my other fish... frozen mixed food or freeze dried shrimp and flake food....

Well since we are all giving opinions here... (everyones got one) I would say if you got the money you should start off with nothing less then a 5 X 2 X 2.... I personally would never go less then 2 foot deep again... it adds a lot of options. I also would not go with anything other then 2...

Do you have to feed them live food from time to time or can you get away without doing it? Thanks BTW I have a small Porcupine Puffer in my tank that I am asking about..

If you had a larger tank I would say go for it....amybe like a 45 gallon long tank... but in a tank of that size I would probably try something different... But it is true it is hit and miss and if you have a lot of hiding spots you might try one to see what happens..

how big is the algea wafer you are dropping in there? You might consider dropping two wafers i nthe tank 1 by the guppies and 1 at the other end of the tank.. your guy will find it..

I think i will have to looking into investing in a refractometer.... I guess if I do a reef tank down the line...it is a lot more unforgiving then just a fish only SW Tank...

Wow... I haven't been around SW tanks that long (only since October) but I haven't heard until reading this topic of readings above 1.024 I use a swingarm floating hydrometer from Marineland LAbs.. and although it ranges from 1.000 to 1.032 the safe range it lists is from 1.020 to 1.024...

I agree with just about all of what you had to say...great post... The only thing I would add is that I feed my fish about 15 minutes before i float my new bag of fish... this way they are full... I must admit however I usually take under an hour to acclimate 45minutes to an hour on average...

Yes that was what they were called... they looked really cool, but after I found out what they did to make them look likethat I did not like it at all... That can not be good for the fish..
