Hey all, got a new 16G planted tropical tank with a C02 unit.. what do you think? The inhabitants so far are: 1x Angel Fish 2x Congo Tetra 2x Black Phantom Tetra 1x Albino Catfish Got a nice piece of bogwood and a cool coconut cave in there... what do you think of the layout of the tank...

swapped out my current plants last night and added some hardy aquatic plants to my tank, also attached some java moss to my bogwood and one of my rocks. :) Also I got Merlin a Girlfriend... pics to follow.

In my experience Bettas go fine with Guppies and Neons... my betta's are housed with 5 neons and they get along perfectly well. In my other tank I have a male betta with guppies and they don't bother each other at all.... definately don't put a betta in with gouramis though, they don't get along.

I'm going to take that plant out tonight....

It is an 11g tank, 45 litres.... I think it looks deceptively small as it is a bowl shape. I have just found out that the plant isn't aquatic, will remove the said plants and replace at the weekend. Thanks for the comments :)

Thanks for all your great comments, I am really pleased with the tank and the betta :). It would be strange if the plant wasn't aquatic as it was being kept in water at the store and was selected by a member of staff... oh well. Anyone know why whenever I get grass like plants they tend to go...

Thanks for the comments... strange about the plant as I bought it from the tropical fish section of the fish store I go to. I will give them a call and ask them about the plant. Thanks for the heads up though :).

Thanks very much for the advice, not sure about the fishless cycling I picked a siamese to go in first as they are a hardy fish and cope with high toxicity levels. I'll be doing regular water changed so hopefully I will keep the stress to a minimum. I will turn the bubbles down on the air pump...
