    Some Of My Modelling Work

To answer some of your concerns. First yes I have passed my qualifications to be a professional photographer. My specialist subject are nature photographs. As I mentioned earlier, photography is subjective and it was only my opinion on the "subject" which was Zoe. I personlly think she looks...

    Spooky Or Just Plain Odd?

It looks like "white light" bounce back. Some cameras shutter speed are not fast enough to stop white light from bouncing back off the subject and it shows as a slight over exposure on the photograph. This happens with hand held digitals.- especially if the setting is on automatic. It is...

    Some Of My Modelling Work

First may I say as a model you are fine. As a photographer I find a lot of your photos reasonable. Your picture 1 for my taste is a little confusing. You need a contrast between yourself and the background otherwise you look just part of the background with legs. Picture 2. is nice, but...

New Footage Of The Loch Ness Monster

The thing is that it's summertime here in the UK. The tourist season begins, and of course what does Scotland have....you've guessed it , the Loch Ness monster. Has anyone heard of the Moray Firth monster???? No?,,,,shame on you. It's again supposed to be related to Nessie. It's not so well...

    The Dragons' Lair

Running water???? what's that then? lol :shout: The white tape are seperation barriers for our horses and ponies. Cheaper and more greener than using steel fencing. The animals can't hurt themselves either. Before you ask, we have 3 horses and 1 pony.

    Together Or Not

Asthetically speaking you should have fish that occupy the top, middle and bottom section of your tank. It is a wise bet to have community fish to start off with. Once you manage those then you can try something more adventerous.

    Eheim Or Fluval

I have two external filters, 1 Fluval and 1 Eheim. Of the two the Eheim Ecco is most definitely the quiter and more efficient.

    Fin Rot Or Not?

It does sound more like fin nipping to me, but of course fish water is loaded with nasty pathogens. So quite soon what is a simple problem will lead to bigger issues. Use a general med to lower the pathogen levels in the tank and keep a watchful eye on the rest of your fish.

    Fish Tank Decoration

Goldfish bowls are a little frowned on these days when there are so many suitable tanks about which are simarily priced as a bowl. But if you do have a bowl then you should have a substrate(ie gravel bottom at least an inch deep) Then you should only use the minimal of decoration, preferably...

Would Tank Be Too Heavy 2nd Floor Maisonette

You should be fine if you cansite your tank next to a load bearing wall. Make sure it is a load bearing wall and not just a stud wall. An easy way of finding out is to knock on the wall with your knuckles. If it sounds "hollow" than reckon that it's a stud wall. If it sounds "solid" then assume...

TEST DRIVING THE BIORB AND BIUBE

Quite a mouthful of questions there MAM! I'll try and answer them. The media is messy to clean as you need to take out the fish and put them elsewhere. Then you need to grab handfuls of the media out and rinse them, put them aside until you clear it all out of the base-which is a small round...

TEST DRIVING THE BIORB AND BIUBE

I have been doing some research with a fish centre which stock a number of different aquariums and livestock. I say livestock, simply because this centre is only one of a few that are licenced to sell some rare terrapins.(over £400.00 each!) It also houses a large range of aquatica "stuff". So I...

    water conditioner?

Stress Coat is fine for short term use. You need to go back to basics to know what stress coat does and how it affects the fish. So without boring you I will try and explain. All fish, have a protective mucus layer just under their scales, and this is there all the time. You may or may not have...

    Salt

As wolf states:"there is no need to add salt unless you are treating a disease." is correct. Salt can be detrimental to the well being of some species of fish as they are not salt tolerant at all. It is best to avoid salt in water unless you know fish have come from brackish waters. ie those...

    fishless cycle

Yes it will, this is commonly known as bacterial bloom. Once the bacteria has nothing to feed on it will die and the water will clear itself. Yes it will. This happens when there is a saturation of oxygen in the water, normally when you're filling a new set-up or you've drained the water off to...

    question about medicating

Malc.Gr and Meth.Bl. are two of the most powerful bactericides and they also stain everything quite badly. You will find that you will need to reseed the filtration system after you clear the meds. The fact that you have used a broad spectrum bacteriacide plus Acroflavine which is an...

    rtbs feeding question

Flaked food is excellent source for vitamins and has all the nutrients and has been prepared as well balanced menu. Hey! who wants to always eat what's good for them? Fish are the same, give them something out of the ordinary as a treat. Something like fresh or frozen bloodworm or daphnia or...

not sure if my balloon mollie is pregnet.

This is a difficult question to answer as you don't give much away. The answers to the questions that follow will help in making a better diagnosis. 1. What colour is your Molly 2. Are there any prutruding scales(scales that look as though they are standing away from the fish) 3. Do you have any...

    First Tank

Just a word about Ph. When you read all about fish in books etc. it gives you the "right" Ph. This assumes that the fish you have are "wild" and have not been bred in captivity. If your fish which will invariabily be captivity bred fish as "starters", because rarely does a beginner go straight...

    First Tank

In a newly stup system, especially as new as yours is, there will always be bubbles etc. These will disappear. Your water will also turn cloudy when you add plants, this is normal-bacterial bloom. Again this will disappear. If you intend to decorate the tank, my suggestion would be to do it...

    How to build Beneficial Bacteria

Why don't you you start your tank off with a couple of small hardy fish, such as cloud minnows(no bigger) and a bottle of bio culture. You can have interest in the water whilst cycling the tank.
