hi when i bought my tank i got a few bottles of chemicles with it aqua plus, nutrafin cycle, nutrafin waste control and nutrafin plant grow ive put in aqua plus i have a 55 gallon tank so i had to use about half the bottole this seemed like a lot of chemicles espeshaly as it instructs me to do it every seven days. This means im going to be using a hole bottle every two weeks and if i use the other chemicles as well its going to cost me a whole lot of money every 2 weeks. So how important is it that i use every chemical every week. Any help welcome

I'm not sure about the others but Cycle doesn't work. You need to decide whether you are going to cycle with fish or fishless. See the pinned topics on cycling.

The ONLY chemical you NEED to use weekly is a de-chlorinating conditioner which you use to neutralise chlorine/chloramine and heavy metals in the tapwater you use for water changes.
If your tank is planted you may need to add a liquid plant fertiliser weekly depending on the plants you use.

Products such as cycle and waste control are just there to make money from you and are of no benefit to your aquarium at all.

A cheaper more economical water conditioner is Stress Coat from Aquarium Pharmacueticals which treats 40 litres (10 US gallons) of raw tapwater with one teaspoon.

Just use aquaplus.

What it does is neutralise chlorine/chloramine

You just use it when you do water changes or when you initially fill up your tank.

If you change 10 gallons a week, just dechlorinate the new water you put in, not for the whole tank! :D

Hope this helps
