What is this and how do I get rid of it?!?

Thanks for taking the time for all your info! Those Java Ferns grow so quickly, I’ll definitely cut it back. In my filter are carbon fiber pads, fluval polishing pads, a bag of granular phosphate remover and a bag of granular ammonia remover. I’ve started water changes every 3 days last week...

    Snail not moving

They really really really stink when they are dead. I agree with the sniff test. I have done it often.

Wow! I am honored! Thank you for your generous compliments. It is such a fun hobby, and I consider my fish friends just as important as my two cats and the rest of my family. Here are a few more photos if you are interested. Thank you again.

What is this and how do I get rid of it?!?

Good Afternoon! Thank you for replying. Nothing new added to tank in 18 months (except my black skirt tetras babies: at LEAST 2-3 new ones that survive PER MONTH!) It’s slimy and does rinse off when I wash everything. But back again within 48 hours. Strange. I’ve been keeping aquariums for 3...

What is this and how do I get rid of it?!?

Thank you so much for your reply. I’ll attach some pictures. In your opinion, should I use a small amount for what’s on the plants? Some of the broad leafed plants have an “ dust” on them as well. I pruned the really bad ones. All water parameters are as close to perfect as I can possibly get.

What is this and how do I get rid of it?!?

Recently, I’ve had a “bloom” of brown hair algae. It is on my live plants, decorations and even on an Apple snail’s shell! I was recommended to use the above product. I bought it, brought it home and reading the directions, it’s a plant fertilizer! Wouldn’t that also feed the algae? I haven’t...

    Snail not moving

Exactly the same experience I have had. A Nerite snail stayed in its shell for 5 days. One day, it was out and about! I have also experienced a dead snail, and it is absolutely true, that if they stink to high heaven, they are definitely dead.

    Black Skirt Tetra babies

Here we go again! The two black skirt tetras from weeks back have grown large enough that I don’t recognize them in the school of other black tetras. BUT another one is born! I originally bought 6 of them 18 months ago. They keep breeding, so now I have 13! So cool watching them grow up!
