Agreed. You may have somthing wrong with the canister itself.

To get rid of black beard algea on bogwood. I take the wood out and attack it with a wire wheel attachment on my battery drill. Green algea on the glass is normal and I use an algea scrubber to keep that under control.

It just looks like suspended dust to me. I had a bacterial bloom when cycling a tank and it was a lot whiter, like very very very watered down milk.

It will be fine, I kept an old 300 litre tank in my council garage for years and years, through freezing winters and boiling summers. When it came time to dismantle the tank to make some space the sealant was as tough as it was on day one. Took me ages to cut it apart.

I have fed both frozen and dried bloodworm with no ill effects.

I have duckweed in my tank tht I introduced by mistake. I don't stress about it. I just remove a load when I do a water change and give it to my father in law who has a koi/goldfish pond. He dumps it in the pond and the fish eat it. People strees about duckweed in their tank, personaly I like it.

Duckweed 👍 No more algea, it wil just be replaced with insane amounts of floating plants.

If you are replacing filter floss every week with the branded stuff especially for your filter you are spending a lot of money you don't need to. Just buy a big roll of it and cut it to size.
