Anyone ever seen a guppy with a tail like this?

These guppies look really cool, I’m not sure if they’re crown tail because usually crown tails are more separated. Here’s my crown tail guppies.

🐠 TOTM VOTE NOW - November 2024 Tank of the Month Contest (31 gal and larger)

This is my planted 75 gallon tank. It’s been up and running for about a year now and it all started with only a couple plants. All of the water wisteria you see came from one single plant I propagated over and over again. The Amazon sword on the right side is around 20 inches long. This tank is...

Plants not doing very, could do with some advice

Yes in my opinion they are better, especially for heavy root feeders. And you will need a stronger, brighter light.

Plants not doing very, could do with some advice

I use nicrew lights, the 24 hour mode has made my plants grow. It’s a cheaper but good working lighting option they’re on Amazon. I would improve both your light and fertilizing, root tabs are good, I use osmocote plus it’s cheap for a lot of it and works great for me, but a lot of different...

Plants not doing very, could do with some advice

I use osmocote plus I just put them deep into the substrate around 5 inches from each other throughout the tank or just where the plants are. I think you plants just need some fertilizer

Is the sand capping anything like aqua soil? If not are you using any root tabs?

🐶 POTM VOTE NOW - September 2024 Pet of the Month Contest

This is Remi. He is a European starling, invasive in the United States. I was picking a flower when I heard screaming to my right. When I looked over I saw Remi on the ground, mouth open expecting food. When I found him his eyes weren’t even open yet. I called wildlife rehabs but none would take...

Best non-liquid, non-clay iron for DIY root tabs & Enriching inert substrate

From personal experience I just have used osmocote plus and the water column fertilizers, I once too had a diatom issue but it resolved when the tank seemed to balance out. After I put in the osmocote it took a little for it to break down so I didn’t see immediate results but once it did...

    Root tabs or aqua soil?

I did organic potting soil capped with pool filter sand, or any sand works. For root tabs I use regular osmocote fertilizer, I put them deep into the substrate just as you would root tabs. First photo is how it started, and second is now. This for me has worked better than aquasoil. Still...

    How many threadfin acaras?

Okay thank you. I figured it was at least 5 but I’ve heard other things too, so I wanted to come onto here and get other opinions. I’ll just stick to my angelfish plan then

    How many threadfin acaras?

I have an empty 75 gallon that is cycling right now, and I’m trying to figure out what I want to stock it with. I’ve seen mixed responses when it comes to acara tank sizes, and I’ve heard you need at least 3 since they are social. So how many gallons minimum would it be for 3? Or if 75 isn’t...

    Sudden ember tetra death?

If anything I think at this point it was weak health. I got them from a petco not even a year ago so it shouldn’t be age. I’ll keep close watch of their behaviors to make sure there’s no type of sickness going on.

    Sudden ember tetra death?

I originally had 7 ember tetras. I have a 40 gallon with platies, ember tetras, and threadfin rainbow fish. It’s a planted tank and the water parameters are fine. I did my usual 25 percent water change, and a day later the one ember tetra was acting strange and went into hiding, and I’ve never...

    Petco flowerhorn

    Petco flowerhorn

I got this little guy at a Petco, he was the meanest in the tank and went for my finger at the glass. Do you think he has potential ? He’s around 1.5-2 inches.

    Things floating in water

I found these very tiny microscopic things floating around in my water. They’re smaller than the tiny bubbles that float around. I’m not sure how I even spotted them. I’m not sure if they’re harmful, but I was wondering if anybody has ever had these before. They’re not copepods, I’ve had those...
