Welcome. Danios are far too active to be kept with timid fish. My Medaka’s were certainly freaked out by the ones I inherited from a mate. My waters liquid rock as well. If it’s good looking hard water fish you want then Maidenheads do some lovely long finned WCMMs and long finned Cherry Barbs...

My QT tank will be emptied during the week. Should’ve been done a couple of weeks back.I’ll not be buying any fish until I see how many WCMMs come in from the garden in early October. If I need to use it quickly from empty I just swap out one of my two shotgun style sponge and bead bubble...

WCMMs especially have wild temp swings during the year if what I’ve read about them is true. Mine are in two little garden ponds atm hopefully increasing their number though not by too many I hope.

Ignore the fish shop. Listen to this places wise heads. They’ve helped increase the life quality of hundreds of thousands of fish worldwide. Not all super hero’s wear capes. I always come down on the side of a planted cycle. Unless of course you can get your filter seeded by someone?
