I have had a snail for about 2 months now, and about 3 weeks ago i found eggs on the inside of the hood, i left them alone to see if they would grow, but they didnt. Does this mesn that the snail is infertile, do they need to be fertalised, or can they lad duds? :dunno:

Would it be a better idea to leave a box filter in there?

I have still got 2 box filters running at the same time as the fluval just to get things going, gut i'll take 1 or both out after seeing how things go

I Got a new filter today, its a FLUVAL 3+ apparently its the new model. Any one know if they are any good? Is also got HAGEN on the box.

I have had my tank setup for about 3 months, and i am currently using 2 box filters Only now 9 of my fish have died in the same day :-( This may have been caused bu bad filtration :crazy: So, the next thing to do is to replace them. Any ideas on whats good and whats not, would be a great help...

No, the carbon is just under the cotton wool. I have only been doing partial water changes of about 25% every couple of weeks as i thought the filters were upto the job. My local shop said that i should use these because i wanted to keep angel fish, and they needed a slow water flow. As my...

The tank is 20 gallons. the carbon is in granules amd have been in there since i set the tank up. I had 7 guppies, 2 angels, 2 mollies, 2 guramies, 1 apple snail and a small blue lobster. I also have a few plants (very healthy).

the amonia in the water was between 0.25 and 1.5mg/l, I put the correct amount of ammolock in the tank.
