I managed to take some good shots of the loach, these be easier for identification.  

The loach has a normal tail that kuhli loach have. i was just looking at the loach closely and it is two shades a light brown on top and a even lighter colour on the bottom side. similar to this picture of google

I picked up this fish from my LFS as it didn't look like the usual black kuhli loach, so what species is it?     It was hard to take clear pictures, all i can say it is slightish brown and is eel like so very thin

I really like the idea of the puffer, but i have heard they can become very aggressive to each other as well. I did try to get in peacock gudgeons but none of my local fish stores could get them in, i tried all 5 stores.

The betta does like to spend time in one third of the tank, but everything seems peacefull. I think he spends time in that section as the filter flow is pointed away from that section

Thanks, for the help, i think it is certain i should buy a tank that is 5 gallons or more. However it may take some time until i have the tank so will the betta be fine in my community tank?

How about having some type of catfish for the bottom, something like hoplo, dora catfish etc.

Yes, i have read that it can help fish but in my water there is too much tannis,the fish i have are harlequin and glowlights and they are not as bright so they do not look good in my water, so i think i will a smaller filter and put active carbon into it and see how i get along.

Currently i have active carbon in my filter but that has not worked as good as i was hoping. Also purigen is quite expensive so i am unsure on weather to buy it just in case it does not work.

I think the best option would be to have someone take the fish for the 5 weeks. I dont think you should not go on the holiday. Why dont you ask your local pet store if there is one if they would take the fish for 5 weeks or so.
