Not a bad idea! I have one baby who is larger than the others, he's my tester. I might plop him in there since I know hes too big to get eaten. While I don't have too many plants, there are a few places to hide. If he lasts a day I'm probably good!

Not as of this morning. However, I do have her in the main tank since I have week olds in the nursery and I don't want her to eat them. Shey may have had a few last night and ate them, but she's still pretty big!

That actually doesn't seem too much once you think about it. I guess I could fit like four people in that area and we wouldn't fall through the floor.  I guess plus the stand, filters, gravel, fish, ect... Might add up?   Puts it into perspective but I'm still a bit skeptical

I think you'd be fine without the salt. When two of my dalmatian mollies got sick I added some salt which really helped them heal. If they end up not doing too well you can just add a little, it shouldn't affect the other fish too much anyway.

They seem to be doing fine with the powdered blood worms. I'm keeping my eye on craigslist for cheap new fishtanks. I can't imagine letting little ones face the big guys, but maybe I'll get a little less emotional when I start getting too many babies to deal with!
