hi my baloon molly has dropped alot under her tail and i think shes pregenent but im not sure because the underneth of her belly is not totally flat. i cant upload a pic because the fish get stressed in the hatchery so i have switched of the light and covered the tank.

I would put her in a breeder trap now, beause if you look closley she has squered off whitch means she will give birth anyday soon.

If you had put your pregenent fish in a breeder trap then you could have saved all the fry.

my water was Ok until 1 week ago when my amonia went a bit high but I think thats sorted now, thank for the website.

If you want to save the fry I would sugest you put the dalmation female in a breeder trap right now.

if they had bred , even if there are not many good hiding places , I would have found at least 1 fry in 6 months, I did find 3 fry but I am sure they were guppy fry by the way my guppys are dead now

You could try swordtails, there livebearers and very easy to breed

I'm talking about the filter cartridges not the sponge

If you have an under gravel filter I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to use it,oh and I dont think you use sand with it but under gravel filters are really good, I mean you never need to buy them cartridges and stuff, I would really recommend that you use your under gravel filter.

hi ive got the same tank as you, acording to the tank booklet you have to change the the cartridges every month and by the way I woud buy a new filter becouse cartriges in this tank cost £15.00 every 3 months,, ive never heard of the sponge thing before coud someone advise me on that.

acully you have to look at the anal fin, the males will form a gonopodium and the females will be fanned

You should keep livebearers like guppies, swordtails,mollys and platys there not that big and there fun
