    Video 90 Gal. Angelfish Tank

Thanks guys. c: The substrate is black sand from Petco, nothing special.

    One Very Aggressive Angelfish

My mother does not want to get rid of the other four angels, so the pair may be going. I'll try not to update this thread much more after this, since we don't have a concrete plan of what's happening.

    Video 90 Gal. Angelfish Tank

I was wondering if he was, or the "rows" of scales were normal. Thank you! :)

    One Very Aggressive Angelfish

I suspect they'll get to it once the others are out  I finally got around to making a thread with pictures: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/441577-90-gal-angelfish-tank/

    Video 90 Gal. Angelfish Tank

At least until I get my hands on some rams and tetras. There are 6 angels and a female BN pleco, but only the pair were photographed as all the others are hiding. Sorry for the large photos, photobucket wasn't working.   The zebra male:   The half black female:       The BN pleco:   FTS:

    One Very Aggressive Angelfish

The pair is showing signs of aggression toward the other four, so I'm moving the spares into a 45 gallon QT medicated with Melafix. The two smallest have developed a fungal infection on their torn fins (I bought them with very messed up fins), so I hope they recover. I believe the stores we...

    One Very Aggressive Angelfish

They follow each other around and cuddle, but I think the male's lips are a little more red than the last time I saw them. The female looks like she's becoming gravid.

    One Very Aggressive Angelfish

As you predicted, I believe they've paired up. Thank you again!

    One Very Aggressive Angelfish

I haven't been able to sex them yet, but he is definitely the only mature male at the moment. He's now the boss of the tank, but he's not as aggressive as the female was. Just chasing and light nipping. I'm keeping an eye on them for now. Thank you!   It's not very helpful that aggression and...

    One Very Aggressive Angelfish

Sorry for overreacting, it seems like he's reversed the roles and just lazily chases them around.

    One Very Aggressive Angelfish

I introduced 6 angelfish to my 90 gallon 3 hours ago. I released them from smallest to largest, only a couple minutes apart. Once they were together they all grouped up and started a little bit of pecking, but mostly just exploration. One angelfish though (s/he's not full grown, but judging on...

    Green Hair Algae

On the topic of ammonia, the third test I did was 0. Either my test is going bonkers or the bacteria did its job. I had a pair of mollies and a swordtail to test the waters, and they showed no sign of distress.   The phosphate test came in and measured 0. I noticed the algae has slowed...

    Green Hair Algae

I think me stirring around substrate unearthed one of the root tabs, because my ammonia shot up to 4.0.  I'm going to try to clean all the substrate I can, and let the bacteria do the rest. (I was planning a nice, relaxing week, but alas)   EDIT: Nevermind, I have no clue what the ammonia is. My...

    Green Hair Algae

I tried that, I just did a 30(ish) percent water change. I poked around and couldn't feel them either.    The algae is fairly slow growing and easy to remove, I can put up with it until water changes take care of it if need be.

    Green Hair Algae

Sorry to revive this thread, but I don't think I can get the root tabs out. They aren't where I left them, I think they dissolved. Should I wait for them to become inactive and deal with the algae in the mean time?

Thanks again guys. c: Also, thank you for the lighting calculator, Steven.

    Help! Guppy Dying!

Clear poop can be a sign of internal parasites, is the fish emaciated or showing no interest in food?

    Green Hair Algae

Ok, I'll definitely not dose any more Osmocote. I'm not sure if I'm able to dig the root tabs out, but I'll try. The phosphate test will be here on Tuesday, as will a 500 ml bottle of Flourish.  ...

    Green Hair Algae

We have well water that goes through a filter, I'll see if I can test that soon. The Osmocote says "9% Available Phosphate", I'll look into other ferts. I'd heard of Osmocote Plus being okay in aquariums, but I may just have excessive amounts of phosphates in my well water. What would you like...

    Green Hair Algae

Okay, CO2 is out of the picture. The light is on for maybe 12 hours a day, which is a lot, but it will be lowered to 9 or 10 once I get the fixture wired in. Should be today if everything goes well. The fixture will be able to raise off the tank, I could try not having the lights so close to the...

    Green Hair Algae

I've been noticing some very long green hair algae growing on the walls of my aquarium, and would like to sort it out before my mother decides to trash the tank altogether. (She's getting quite fed up with algae explosions choking out her plants) I can't get a picture as I pulled as much of it...

    Odd White Algae

The same is happening on the other heater (Opposite side of the tank) and both of the airline tubes. The tubes like like they have spores on them instead of the slime/hair growth on the heaters. They aren't bubbles, I checked. The tubing is silicon, I've used it before without problems in my...

    Odd White Algae

Sorry they're so blurry: And an example of the "new driftwood algae stuff" that comes along (looks very similiar): I could take out the heater and scrub it in something like vinegar.

    Guppy Fry Swimming Odd/dying.

Usually, if a fish swims with what looks like a heavy tail, it means complications with their swim bladder. Clamped tails are a sign of stress, and it looks like the fry in the video has red gills. (I may be wrong, my internet is being weird and glitching videos). Red gills are related to...

    Odd White Algae

    It's new.
  33. LyraGuppi

    Odd White Algae

What is this stuff?  It looks similiar to the normal white fuzz on the new driftwood, but it's on the heater and it's suction cups. The tank is cycling, so I can't give parameters. No ferts or co2, the only lighting is a couple of 20 watt CFLs. (Temporary)   I have more pictures if you need.
