Hi guys,

Thought I'd update everyone on my tank.....I started fish keeping about 2 years ago with a lot of passion, but unfortunately a promotion and move and now building a house got in the way of my passion and the fish tank got pushed down the list of priorities.  Over the last couple of weeks I've made some time to devote to the tank and have re-vamped it a bit.  So, I thought I would upload some pictures and a video.

Tank details:

4ft long, approx 200litre capacity

Been running for 2 years, 0 ammonia and nitrite, nitrates generally hover around 40 (have nitrates in my tap water).

Tank inhabitants:
12 neon tetras
9 rummynose tetras
6 hengeli rasbora
2 glowlight tetra (last two from initial school)
2 black neon tetra (last two from initial school)
3 danios
2 neon rainbowfish
Approx 10 platies (mix of males/females)
7 swordtails (3 males, 4 females)
4 japanese blue endlers (2 male; 2 female) - only recently placed in the tank as I had to decommission one of my other tanks.
1 clown loach

The clown loach, glowlights, black neons, rainbowfish and danios were either from my original stocking list or given to me by friends who decided to stop fishkeeping.  I will not replace them when they finally pass away.  I understand the clown loach should be in a group and will get massive, but he was one of the very first fish I got before I did my research.  I am planning to get a bigger tank for him.  Please don't criticise me for the clown loach!

I will maintain this tank with the neons, rummynose, hengeli (will bump up their numbers once some of the other species finally pass) as my three schooling species and the platies and swordtails.

Plants
Mainly live plants.  Java fern and java moss tied onto a piece of driftwood.  Thin val, elodea and pennywort.  A crypt of some kind (unsure), and an anubias attached to a rock.  I have some fake floating plants to provide some shade for fish and protection for fry (am thinking of getting some riccia to have floating to help absorb the nitrates).

Filtration
I have an aqua one nautilus external filter and change approximately 30-40% of the water weekly.  They are fed once a day with a variety of food (flakes and pellets are the staple) including frozen bloodworms once a week.

Photos and videos coming in the next few posts (once I resize them!)

First few photos :)  Will upload more later when I resize them.

Why not just sell the clown loach rather than let it suffer in a very small, Insanely overstocked tank? I understand you may be attached to said fish but it's not fair on the big guy! Most LFS would offer a trade for it too, Would just need to ask. As for the rest of the stocking, It's okay I guess @,@ I dislike busy tanks myself. But overall the tank looks nice.

My 200l is
2X kribensis
14x Colombian redfins
1x Reedfish

and that's me stocked, But everyones tank is there own. Can only offer suggestions :3

I love a busy tank, love all the action - there's always so much to see.  It may be 'overstocked' but I have a large filter running, am increasing the live plants and do regular water changes.

I only have one LFS nearby so may ask them about taking the loach.  However, I am building a new house and will have a much larger tank when I move there, so the plan is to keep the loach and get some more in the larger tank.

Anyhow, here's a video of my tank...hope you like.

looks really great!!  the video shows it off very nicely!  loooooove that plant growing on top of that cool rock with the hole in it!!

Thanks so much for the positive comments :) much appreciated!

I'm not sure the exact type of plant, but it's an anubias on top of a lava rock I believe.....

Since the video I have got more live plants: a giant cardamine, some floating riccia and some floating water lettuce.
