    Llj's 8G... Yuma/zoanthid Garden

Time for peeechurs for this tank too. This tank will be a year in another month and while not as glamorous as the Biocube, it's my favorite tank. I don't plan on adding anything new. I don't think the dottyback or the goby will take to another fish, so I'll leave things as they are. The...

Llj's 36G Corner Bowfront... Out Of The Ashes...

Not much going on here except that you can see that the CUC has done some work. :) I also replaced the Koralia powerheads with Aqueon powerheads. I have 2 Aqueon 500s 1 Aqueon 750 Some serious flow now. Will do corals that like the motion. Picture L

    Llj's 8G Oceanic Biocube

Peeechurs are here... Full tank shot... The clown is a ham and tbh, a bit aggressive to the firefish. Not biting aggressive, just annoyingly boisterous for the firefish's taste. Firefish in his favorite cave Top view, I still need to get a hydor Flo. Valley with gsp, I managed to...

    Acidic Water =(

You'll have to use chemicals anyway. Not necessarily to up the pH as yes, the sand and rock do have a buffering capacity, but you'll probably have to use chemicals to remove heavy metals, ammonia, nitrates, chlorine. I use RO/DI water. Here is an excellent explanation from our Resource center...

    A Sad Day....

I'm sorry, DM. I know how it feels to get attached to a fish. And while I've never kept them, I can see why people are so attracted to oscars. They seem very personable. Almost like a bulldog or something similar. L

    Tyler's 29Gal. Tank Project!

:) I'm glad you're excited. Starting a new tank is always fun. And it gets easier the second time around with SW. You have so much more knowledge than when you started your 29g. I'm very proud of you. L

    35G Saltwater Reef Journal

I think that's why he opted for a damsel and not a $100 blue spot jawfish. :) Like I said, it's definitely not the method I used to start off, but I do understand that many successful reefs are started in just this way. I live in Miami, reefs over here are very commonplace. Kyle, what made...

    Lighting

This article is very good. I'm surprised people are not basking in it's glory. I'm basking. Serious, I really like it. If you want, I can do some mod powers on it to bold the headings and stuff like that? No content changes, just make the headings more apparent. I'll also go over it for...

    35G Saltwater Reef Journal

It is early than you're used to, but there's 6 years of reefing in this journal and there is a school of thought that allows hardy fish like damsels and some inverts to be placed into the tank at this time, especially when we're dealing with cured rock. Many of my tanks have gone through the...

    Llj's 8G Oceanic Biocube

Got some corals for this tank, pictures tomorrow... I think, or Tuesday at the latest. A nice colony of Mohawks palythoas A little clump of gsp - has the same neony quality that my current gsp in this tank has. A favia and for the life of me, I can't remember the name. It's a wicked bright...

    Llj's 8G... Yuma/zoanthid Garden

Thanks, Tyler. :) My boyfriend's favorite tank is the Biocube. Not that I dislike the Biocube, but mine is this one. There's just something I really enjoy about this tank. Both corals are doing well. Extended and very pretty. It'll be a tough call deciding where they go. I also moved that...

    Tyler's 90Gallon Reef Project

Besides, until then, stock it with softies and get the tank ready for the future. No need to rush into sps-dominated systems from the getgo. Actually, there are advantages to going softie first in most systems. L

    Tyler's 90Gallon Reef Project

Hehe, I'm looking forward to this one. It'll be epic once you're finished with the upgrades. Lighting doesn't seem great, but for zoas, mushies, and palys, you'll be fine. L

    Llj's 8G... Yuma/zoanthid Garden

For the first time in a while, I got something for this tank. Last purchase was the harlequin shrimp. Since pocilliporas and stylopora do so well with this tank, I decided to purchase two more. I got a green pocillipora. And a purple stylo. It's awesome. Love it. Right now, they're at...

    Tyler's 29Gal. Tank Project!

The birdnest looks very good, so good that it almost looks like a stylopora rather than a birdsnest. But I can see the pointed tips through the polyps extension so I know it's birdsnest.

Was Supposed To Be A Fowlr.........

If halides are utilized correctly there is no cracking of glass or acrylic melting. I use halides in two tanks.

Was Supposed To Be A Fowlr.........

Depends on the fish... I have lids in all my tanks, but I really tend to like fish that have jumping problems. Other people are fine without lids keeping the same jump happy fish. LOL

Llj's 36G Corner Bowfront... Out Of The Ashes...

Nah, it's not that bad. Once fall semester kicks in, I should be ok. I'll be looking at a lot of tank breakdowns in the coming months and buying colonies from them rather than the lfs for this tank. A coral here, a coral there is all my budget will allow. I usually don't skimp on inverts and...

    Llj's 8G Oceanic Biocube

LOL, that statement can be taking in a whole other direction. Nope, this tank is the Rebel LED tank. Palys just really seem to do well for me. Zoas I'll lose, but palys... A whole other animal. Sometimes I think that given water chemistry and setup, some corals just do better for one...

Llj's 36G Corner Bowfront... Out Of The Ashes...

Thanks guys. Well, most of my CUC arrived yesterday. 6 banded trochus 10 nassarius vibex 15 Florida ceriths, not the dwarfs like I thought, that's great. Means they'll do more 2 emerald crabs 3 Caribbean porcelain crabs (well porcelain anemone crabs were sent by mistake, but luckily there were...

No, haven't glued corals yet, nor have I reduced the light intensity. But I did take peeeechurs. Clownfish is ok I also got three new additions. By mistake, the vendor sent my lfs three porcelain anemone crabs instead of the three Caribbean porcelain crabs I had requested for the CUC in my...

    Aqua Nano 40 55Ltr Sumped

I have absolutely no DIY skills, so I applaud anybody who does. Very nice work on the sump. That wrasse is stunning. I've always wanted one, but I hear they're jumpers big time! I technically could seeing as all my tanks have lids. The wrasse is a swimmer, if you get another fish. You'll need...

    My Puddle

You're not the only one. I'll zap an aiptasia no questions asked, but I'll leave a small group of majanos alone. I got the ones that are kind of like zoas in appearance. I guess it's because the first thing I found alive in any of my tanks was a small majano anemone. I named him...

I think the poster may be referring to the outdoor temperature and hopefully, not the tank temperature. 33 is still too high for a tropical tank.
