Anyway I have put in this, an old piece of ocean rock that was sitting in...

2 New Marine Projects, Just After Thoughts Please

Thanks for the reply. I did think that, and i see most people keep pipefish and seahorses together only. However my thinking is that a Boxfish is pretty similar in that it will keep itself to itself and its not the most mobile of fish either. The thinking being these would all just ignore each...

Changing To Marine After Fish Thoughts

Yeah what I meant with the choice was it was either Tangs an triggers etc... OR the reef. I wont be mixing an matching as part of the joy of the reef will be all the inverts. I am almost certainly going to get a reef now although I dont think I will be buying 40 kilos of Live Rock in one swoop...

Changing To Marine After Fish Thoughts

Thanks for the replies, the QT is a must may swing it towards a reef now then. I dont really have much room for another tank unless I get rid of some of my others. I really like the look of full reef systems and love shrimps, crabs snails etc.. These are probably my favourite part but I have a...

Changing To Marine After Fish Thoughts

Thanks for the reply. I will obviously do a lot of research on the fish before I buy them, I was just after a general idea for now. Changing To Marine After Fish Thoughts

I have a 6x2x2 an think I am finally in a financial position to do a proper tank so I'm gonna do it gradually. I was just wondering though about the thoughts on fish. I am debating puttin some more larger fish in there like Angels, possibly a Puffer or Eel. Is this tank big enough for that kind...

    Post You Snake Head's

I think it must relate to a dry season in the wild which must induce hormones to induce breeding. I was told that removing water slowly over the weeks and then in one shot add it all back gets them to breed. I just added my own theory to it about the hormones. Presumably just means that where...

Am I Feeding My Bichirs Too Little?

Frozen Prawns are a big favourite of my 2. I would actually recommend a different style of feeding for predators such as Bichirs. I tend to feed mine every other day rather than 3 or 4 times a day like other fish. It is more what they are acustomed to in the wild. If you have to feed other...

I am definately gonna try that for the Ornate, Senegal and Fire Eel now. I am not proud of it, but up till now I have been just overfeeding to make sure the 2 Bichirs got some. Been doin roughly 3 water changes a week as well. Just use the hose pipe tho so its quite easy.

Whitebait As Main Diet, Or Prawns

Title says it all really, i'm not great on nutritional values in foods so I was hoping someone could tell me which would be best for my fish, a staple diet of Whitebait, with mussels, squid, and prawns as a treat, or the other way round? Haha, you should get one, they're great, lol. Yeah the fire Eel putting in a little cameo in the Severum pic. He is part of the reason I took out the filter. Saps - Teeth Trimming

I may be way out here an you would definately have to look it up but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that if you put rocks in the tank they will use this themselves in order to keep their teeth under control. Looking from another angle it would make sense as where would these fish get the...
