What i did was built my own canopy over my 4ft tank and used a shop light t 8 fixture that hangs from that. Looks real nice that way. I should post pics later.

If you do your weekly water changes you shouldnt have to worry about water loss due to evaporation. I have half glass top under my open back canopy and i lose about a half inch of water per week in my 55gal. The only reason i run half my glass tops is to make it so my clowns cant jump out if...

I did use the nitrate removing media for a couple months. If you follow instructions and charge it weekly it really works. After they were gone they never went back up either. So between that and weekly 20%changes it did work good. Just thought i would share. Good luck with the new filter.

clown loaches are great. Your tank would be a good size for them at 125gal. They get rather large (google clown loach and you will see) and they need a good flow in the tank. They wouldnt do well with the more agressive fish though. They are very playful and would be harassed a lot. I am going...
