but from the pics lots of greenery too, a dark substarte and background if anything should show the colours off better. fish change colours with mood and a dark fish means a stressed fish or ill fish.

couldnt really see what was in there tbh. i picked out archer fish which can be brackish dependant on species, a birchir? which isnt brackish, a bass of some sort? again not brackish the rest i couldnt make out. what is the salinity of the tank?

try doing the test on the tap water to see what results you get Peter. if the stocking of the tank is minimal then the plants may be taking care of it for you. i do feel though that the filter hasnt had enough time to cycle so beware of nitrite spikes. keep an eye on it :good:

a fish will live fine with just one eye. as long as its feeding ok and as said above there is nothing attacking them then it should be fine. maybe grow to love him for his disability instead of culling it :good:

even if there is a slight trace of ammonia then do a water change to get it back to 0ppm. the tank is still very young so keep a good eye out for any spikes in the water. i wouldnt add any more fish for a couple of weeks or until your sure that the tank is stable. as CezzaXV siad the 2nd...

do you know how old the heater is please? has it been in constant use?

with these test results it seems that your filter hasnt been cycled. the reason i say this is due to the nitrates being 0. so unless you have a very densly planted tank this is where it points me :unsure: Zero ammonia 8 ph Zero nitrate Zero nitrite how long has the tank been set up for...

is it your nitrATE or nitrITE that thats at 5ppm? if its nitrate then thats not an issue but if its nitrite you will need to keep doing water changes whenever possible to reduce it back to 0ppm. plants can only be a good thing in tanks, as long as the live plants are doing well they will help...

ive transfered the angels into my ray tank ready for collection. ive done it now to save stress levels with them being transfered too many times in a short time. also to make room for my new angels that im getting next weekend :good:

how long have you had the bamboo shrimp for? for them to move from the flow suggests they arent getting enough food there. keep an eye on them as they may starve.... were the loaches quarentined before you added them at all? if not they may not be well, are there any signs of illness/disease on...

Hi. bamboo shrimp are filter feeders which is why you see they near the top in the flow as they are filtering the water for their dood supply. if a fish dies then im not sure if the bamboo shrimp will pick at it like others and fish would, if it could then i guess it would... have you got your...

reading it htrough again what i put i didnt mention to get the new water as close to the tank waters temperature so the fish dont get a shock from a temperature change. also add it slowly and add dechlorinator :good:

so today the F1 Leopoldi tank became F1 Leopoldi less..... as 4 are to be sold at the end of the month i transfered them into another tank for now. i am getting 2 or 4 more wilds next weekend so making space for them at the same time i guess. the remaining 4 Leopoldi may stay in with the rays...

using the sink as a water storage even only briefly can be a risk if its used for other things. it may have traces of bleach or other chemicals ec from washing up etc :crazy: apart from that it sounds fine :good:
