with otos, khuli loaches and corys i would go for the less aggresive bolivian ram from the list but as kizno said there are a few other choices out there. your water is too cold also for GBR's they like it hot 28-30 degrees C.

when you changed the tank layout its possible that you have disturbed the substrate. this can cause lots of debris to enter the water flow and into the filters, things like uneaten food, poop and dead plant matter etc. keep an eye on the water parameters and do the relevent water changes over...

my EI starter kit cost £18 + p&p and there is loads of stuff that should last for ages. im currently dosing 80ml of macro 3x a week and 80ml of micro 3x a week with 8ml of carbon every day. sounds loads compared to you???????? :unsure:

yeah im hoping it will work ZZ. it had to be dry ferts tbh as the cost of pre made liquid ferts would be crazy in a tank of this size.... i would go co2 but lack of room in the cabinet and lack of space to add anymore pipework due to the FX5's :sad: maybe another time. :hey:

what is the current stocking in the tank? if you have a decent group of the tetras then 1 shouldnt be picked out and any aggression spread among the group causing much less stress on them. if the rams are getting at each other then this will be a hierachy thing, 1 will be the dominant fish...

no mate i cant afford new lighting ive spent a fortune on these LED's. im happy with the lighting, you get some great ripple effects that you dont get from T8 & T5's.

So far so good with my L200 and L128. They both seem very happy and easy to look after so go for it they are stunning fish mate.

also how much lighting do i need? i have the option of adding up to 5x 32w arcadia led eco-aqua tubes the tank currently has 2 of these lights running for 7 hours and the tank is a 60x18x24 so about 93 imp gallons or 112 US gallons ish ill start dosing at the weekend after the normal 50%...

so i bit the bullet and ordered an EI starter pack and a 2L bottle of liquid carbon to try and keep my plants alive..... they have both arrived today so im all ready to watch my plants flourish!!!!! the starter pack comes with some dosing guidelines- macro solution - 4tsp potassium nitrate...

i chose not to go for these fish in the end due to certain reasons and info i was given :sad: they were a real bargain at £55 though

the test strips are known to be harder to read and less accurate than the liquid test kits. the liquid kits are about £16 but do about 800 test, i think... :unsure: its not essential but you will be doing plenty of tests on the water daily so you know what stage your at in the cycle.

for better results it may be as well to buy a liquid based kit rather than a strip test. the API freshwater master kit is a decent kit and can be found cheapest on ebay ;) at your stage a good test kit is invaluable
