i was told she is a black belt but my freind said shes not. can you help me?

Looks like a Port Acara to me.....

No thats not a Black Belt but it is definitely a Vieja. My initial thoughts were V.Zonatum but had a quick flick through some pictures and Vieja Guttulatum could be a match. Cant tell from the pic but not ruling out Bifasciata female as well.

Could do with clearer pics of the face markings if possible. Also do all the unpaired fins have a red edge to them?

100% not a port acara, shame on you ludwig

its a vieja of some kind but there are so many cross bred fish in this catagory its almost impossible to tell. it could well be a regani, hartwegi, zonata, guttulatum

the blackbelt has a black stripe running top to bottom not head to tail.

what size tank is he in as it does look rather small and with a small filter like that you may run into water parameter issues

Going by the yellow and turquoise flecks my guess would be Paratheraps/Vieja Hartwegi

i think it could be by the pictures vieja zonata.
