I can dispense with winter here in north NY. Great for about 42 weeks the other 10 can be unpredictably miserable. We RV’d for about 10 months a year for several years so never had any real cold weather to deal with for quite a space. Now we just hunker down for a couple months.

Based on the various successful methods reported here my guess is the process is more about the quality of the tank’s water combined with the underlying health of the new fish. If both are of quality several methods seem acceptable. Again, just a newby, but a pretty fair observer.
