There is only one left at the moment it seems to have kept its colour and the fins have not gone ragged yet ,it also is still quite lively the test was done last week can not remember the exact levels but knew that it was okay will be testing again tommorow for exact resualts

I am buying a test kit this weekend to check the tanks environment, Do you know of a good test kit i can buy?, Should i also buy a bacteria product for the tank to help the cycle along.

Thanks to every one for your input and varied suggestions and point of view on my need for help, I will persist with the fry and perform 10% water changes and although i respect jonesy's advice i will try a bacterial product in the tank.

I am going to buy the water kit today, If the amonia levels are up, are water changes the answer?

I am not sure may be something to boost the bacteria, perhaps one of our more experienced members can advise if its possible?.

I thought about doing what you suggested but i do not think my daughter is keen on getting rid of them, It does sound appealing though.

I wondered about feeding them, I have not cleaned the filter since i started the tank, Should i do water changes once a week?

Thanks dave will get the kit this weekend, yes its possible they came from the plants seeing the adult fish only lasted 4 days yet these are still living!!

Thanks for your input stephen, I will let the fry grow and buy a test kit has donna suggested, what about water change should i do them weekly for these tiny fish, I suppose they are living off matter in the tank at the moment.

Thanks Marcos for your heplful advice, i am going to purchase a test kit and go with the babies this will please my daughter, should i do weekly water changes and can you say what test kits worth getting.

My tank is only 18" high by 12" by 12" i will go on to something bigger in the future, I was going to take a sample to the shop this weekend, i must put some fish in there or the cycle cannot complete its self, I am amazed they are still alive!!.

The bottom line is that i cannot complete the tanks cycle with the fry in there, how has the fry survived yet the adult fish all died?, Should i purchase a water test kit to get an idea of the condition of the water can you suggest one. Thanks for replying
