glad you've asked this. I'm after chillis for my upgrade tank, and I never thought about them attacking my shrimp. Glad to hear they're playful :) I read one site that said they were shy and would stay behind plants all the time.

It's all very confusing, and no question is stupid if you don't know the answer (unless it's "I keep buying snails but they keep disappearing, I dont know why, there's only my puffer fish in there" >.<) Add the initial amount of ammonia and keep testing until the ammonia has been processed...

Looking good so far Torred, just remember to PLEASE get an ammonia test kit. I loved the thought of having my neons as they're a "shoaling" fish but they rarely stick together now. But since I found out it's because they're happy, I dont mind so much :)

do you have many over 1cm left? if not I'll have to put them in a breeder net until they're big enough or my guppies will have a free lunch. I could try and pick some up sunday if thats ok with you? Will have to source a lift (and snow permitting) but I should be able to work something out.

snazy - I can't think off the top of my head but I'll check my water when I get home. I'd never thought about brackish water... If this is the case, then I don't know what to do, as I don't know how my shrimp, snails and neons would deal with me changing the water.

errm... just a thought... if they are male guppies with long tails, is it a good idea to put them in with a male betta? I know my guppies flare up when they're grumpy with each other (never resulted in a fight that I've seen), and if they do that to a betta wont that spell trouble?
