He did post them, in the original post. Ammonia and nitrite zero, nitrates about 40ppm which isn't too excessive.

My All Red Cherry Shrimp Died

Most of the sites I've looked at recommend smaller water changes for shrimps. They also recommend dripping the new water into your tank so the properties of your tank water will change very slowly rather than all at once. I think a lot will depend on your tap water. Many shrimp keepers use RO...

My All Red Cherry Shrimp Died

I rarely feed my shrimp, they live in a tank that has a fair bit of algae, some plants and a lot of rocks, so the tank has lots of surfaces for biofilm to grow on and my shrimp are doing great feeding on this. Large water changes aren't good for shrimp. Most of what I've read suggests 10%...

    Stocking Advice

I'd be comfortable putting the embers and habrosus in. Being so small they won't affect your bio load by much. Most of the other fish suggested are schooling fish too. I recently bought a fluval U2 I really like the design

Why are the shell dwellers so hard to find?

I think having a female only tank would take away from the main reason for keeping them, ie to see them establishing territories and bringing up youngsters.

Why are the shell dwellers so hard to find?

I don't know for sure but I reckon they are most likely local, or at least bred somewhere in the UK

Why are the shell dwellers so hard to find?

My LFS always has some in Stock. The UK is obviously different. I agree though that there are surely loads being tank bred. I quite fancy keeping them but the main reason I haven't tried them yet is because think the fry would be difficult to shift.

    Driftwood harmful to betta?

I agree with Nick, I don't see the wood being detrimental to your tank. I'm intrigued though, you said you bought it from a tube? Is this a US term?

    Stocking For 38 Gallon Tall.

Rams are also better kept at fairly high temperatures though this probably isn't as critical as it used to be unless you are purchasing wild caught rams. I like the rest of the stocking plan, if your water proves suitable. I'd have ember tetras instead of glowlights and I'd have about 20 of...

    Breed Identification-HELP

More females than males is probably the best way to keep livebearers happy, but the outcome will be in a few months your tank(s) will be full of them. If you are lucky and have a good strain then your LFS may take some off your hands but without some population control you will soon be inundated...

    Which air pump

Thanks for these suggestions. Jehmco don't appear to be available in UK as far as I can see. Active aqua are available but very expensive. Amazon don't carry them and Ebay choices are shipped from USA with huge shipping costs but I do like the look of them and the specs. The Hailea range...

    Apistogramma agasizzi help

He shouldn't bother the cories. You could drip acclimatise him, put him in a small container in water from the tank hes in, and slowly add water from the tank hes going to.

    Apistogramma agasizzi help

I'm certain that you have 2 males. If you have a big enough tank they may co-exist as there are no females to compete for. If you want to add females, unless you have a large tank, I'd advise rehoming on of the males.

PLS HELP - Molly upside down, won't move

It could well be a swim bladder problem which can be caused by constipation. I believe blanched peas are supposed to be good for this but I never managed to persuade any of my fish to eat peas.

Rescued mollies late last night I think there sick!

TBH adding fish that may well be sick to an established tank is asking for trouble. I know you did it with the best of intentions but you are risking any fish that are already in that tank. The fish look like balloon mollies which due to their inbreeding are probably less hardy than normal...

What should I put in here

First thoughts - Big tank big fish. Maybe though you could do the opposite, ie Big tank, nano fish. A well planted tank with some massive schools of small fish like ember tetras and a herd of corydoras would look spectacular.

Dark green algae/diatom bloom on wood

That's what I have used in the past. According to the manufacturer this is safe to use with fish and so far it hasn't caused any losses for me. I'd imagine if it is cyano bacteria that treating the wood separately would be pointless as it is easier just to take the wood out and wipe it off. It's...
