This is very true and I’ve read in some magazines that you shouldn’t keep male bettas with male guppies. If you have a female betta don’t put male guppies with her because they will stress her out and will constantly pestering her mistaking the betta for a female guppy

Rummynoses are active fish and need a tank of around 2 foot by 1 foot. Neons or green neons would be a good choice. 8-10 of those would be good

Pea puffers are super cool however you can only have one in the tank. A betta would be cool but you could have honey gouramis, maybe a school of neons depending on size of the school. If you plan on getting bottom feeders (corys, shrimp etc) if you go for corys, go with Corydoras pygmaeus or...

Where did you get those two from? I'd be careful as acaras aren't really classed as a community fish. That is if you are planning on putting him with other large robust species such as silver dollars, yoyo loaches etc. Both the fish look awesome!

I'm no expert but I think maybe add a bit of heat to the tank and leave it for an hour or so and check on them regularly. If it shows no improvement then the salt would be a good idea.

That tank looks amazing!!! The back right looks a bit empty imo but I believe that's where the filter is yes? I'm surprised Comet hasn't eaten the RCS yet.

Yes sand is the ideal substrate for corys and loaches so there is no in between sadly. If you have gravel it will most likely destroy the corys barbels. This could be the cause of why they are dying because they depend on their barbels to feed and without them they will become skinny as seen in...

In the first picture he looks extremely thin. You might want to try and add some small sinking wafer so that the corys can get some food. This is if they haven't been eating which I don't know. Where did you buy the corys from?

Probably not as the acara fry will get bigger and more aggressive towards the smaller corydoras fry.

If you end up having corydoras fry, I don't know if you keep corys, then a sand substrate would be a lot better than gravel as it won't damage their barbels. Could also use super fine gravel too.

Bettas can adapt to a wide range of water parameters. Where I live my GH is 290ppm, and I have 2 bettas, both of which are doing very well. But provided you do water changes every 7-10 days then you should be good.

I personally think bettas. There are so many varieties and their colours are awesome. Definitely bettas. Although some kribensis would be cool and you can get your moneys worth if they breed successfully. Can I ask what your GH and pH is? Kribensis generally like 6.5-7.2 pH and 20-100ppm or GH.

If you are to try and do a sorority, put them all in at once, as they will sort out a hierachy between themselves. If you put x amount in then another x amount in (x being the number of fish) the ones put in first will bully the newer ones. A planted tank with 6-8 bettas would look really cool...

If you are looking for a shoaling fish like the rasboras, maybe you could go with neon tetras?
