    85 Litre Stocking

The honey gourami is a top dweller, you've got neons for the middle, so a bottom dweller would be a good idea.   Catfish are the obvious candidate, but you need to ensure that you don't overstock too much. If you wanted to take Munroco's suggestion, it would be easy to do so, as cories need to...

Is A 4Ppm Ammonia Normal On 2Nd Week Of Cycling

Mucking about with pH level is not a good idea.   First, you want a nice high pH for growing bacteria, but even when the tank is cycled, it's far better to choose fish which suit your pH, rather than choosing a pH to suit your fish. Even then, many "low pH" fish will work just fine in a high pH...

Going back to the 12 days of Christmas - does the person get all the milk that the maids were a'milking? That would be more gifts. And I reckon that the pear trees should be counted separately, since they are not permanently attached to the aforementioned partridges.

I listen to a local radio station, (it tends to focus on events within a 30 miles radius) and it is the lead story on there.   I feel for all the hostages, and hope that they aren't harmed. What I absolutely love is  "#Illridewithyou" - non-Muslim Aussies offering to travel on public transport...

Just to add, in my experience, this behaviour isn't exclusive to male mollies. As it goes, I've had more aggressive female mollies than males - including females that would attack males. Mollies are just nasty fish on the whole, so the bigger group size, the better, assuming you have the room...

    Cycle Going Unexpectedly Fast?

It does look good, I must say, but the level rose quite a bit from day 10's 0ppm, so I would give it another snack dose of ammonia, and see what the nitrite reading does then.

How Much Beneficial Bacteria Does Gravel Vacuuming Really Remove?

That's a new one on me.   As Nic says, the bacteria live pretty much everywhere, not just the gravel - and in any case, they cling on pretty darn tight, so, IMHO, you lose negligible numbers of bacteria when you vaccuum - and that's backed up by what you've seen in practice.

This is an issue that has been around for a while. It seems that it only manifests itself if you try to come here from a Google link. There is an issue with a file somewhere, and with the number of files there are on the site server, it takes a while to find the hack. It may also be a file (such...

What Should I Put With My Guppy Tank?

Thanks to the last 3 posters for adding their thoughts, however the thread was started in October 2013, and we haven't seen the OP online since January, therefore your advice to him will be somewhat wasted.   No more comments, please.

Any Of These Mollies Squared Off Yet?

I agree with the lovely Mamashack, they don't look particularly squared off to me either.   Now, about this whole "breeding" & "letting nature takes its course" thing.   Livebearers have loads of fry for a reason. They take zero interest in rearing their offspring, and its often the parents that...

    Upping My Ph Without Chemicals

The "It'll adapt" thing is fine for softwater fish in hard water, but not hardwater fish in soft. Hardwater fish need the dissolved minerals in hard water, but the minerals don't, in general, harm softwater fish that don't need them.   However, if the OP particularly wants to keep those species...

    Upping My Ph Without Chemicals

To be ideal for livebearers, you would want your pH to be up around 7.4 or perhaps a tad higher.   Yes, your idea would work fine, and yes the effect would diminish over time.

    Cycling A Tank Quickly?

Just wanting to check - your ammonia readings of between 1 and 4 - I'm assuming this is measured in parts per million (ppm) - are there any fish in this tank? My Glofish Has A Black Spot What Is It?

You would also need to tell us what model of Glofish(R) you have - they manufacture at least 3 different types of fish.   BTW, having seen your other thread, which says you have a 20l tank, none of the types of fish that Glofish(R) manufacture are suitable for a 20l tank.

A Cut Near The Gill Of My Albino Rainbow Shark?

It looks more like a physical cut to me, is there anything in the tank that the fish could have hurt itself on?   PS, Off topic, I know, but the gourami and the betta will probably end up fighting each other, they are both territorial surface-dwelling fish, unless you have plenty of tall plants...

    Behaviour Of Galaxy Rasboras

This is the key thing. THe fact that they know they have somwehere to hide, should a predator appear, gives them the confidence to come out of hiding.   If you have a bare tank, they will just hide in a corner.,

    What Are Aquaone Tanks Like?

I started out with AquaOne, and still have one, albeit that mine have always been smaller tanks.   In my smaller tank, I have had to drill extra holes in the filter outflow in order to have sufficient capacity, otherwise the filter overflows. This had a knock-on effect in that some of the...
