    The virus is not curable. Not sure how to distinguish virus from wound. I mean if he has other symptoms of the virus then he has the virus but if he doesn’t and just has that one lesion then it’s just a wound.

    What kind of fish is this?

    Looks like a Red tail Notho Killifish to me. Here’s a comparison pic. Might not be this exact species but I definitely think it’s some type of killifish.

    I would inspect them on the spot. See if they need to be resealed, see how dirty they are, that sort of stuff. I doubt he’s a liar but just check that sort of stuff just to make sure...

    20% weekly is good I do mine with a gravel vacuum. Clean the gravel while emptying water. Shouldn’t have to clean filter that often.

    I’m 99% sure it’s contagious. I might be wrong though... Like I suggested above use a plastic tub for a temporary hospital tank. Do daily water changes as well.
