    Feeding fish cucumber

I always blanche my veggies (usually zucchini) before feeding them to the fish, and I usually stab it into a branch on my spider wood. All of my inhabitants go bananas.

If I were to use water direct from well.....

Oh man, I'm soooooo happy that you three showed up!!! I knew I needed the "big guns" with this post! Looks like I'll have to invest in one of these. I'll do some research and see what people like. I believe StevenF has tested a few! Holy crap! No wonder I can't keep them! Although I've been...

If I were to use water direct from well.....

I'm going to try and give the short version of my long story: I cycled a little 6 gallon Fluval Edge just over two years ago. I *thought* my water was hard because I'd tested the tap which was coming up 7.5ph. I stocked with 5 little male endlers. Tons of live plants. Over time I kept losing...

My first planted tank - Fluval Flex 57L

It looks amazing! And I'd leave that algae as I think it looks great and it will make the tank look more natural and alive and trust me your inhabitants (especially shrimp) will love it! Oh and maybe get a nerite snail (super gorgeous algae eaters) and it will Looooooove those rocks! And it...

Oh crud, look at my Oto

Well I had him for 8 months, I have no clue how old he was when I purchased.

Oh crud, look at my Oto

I always do! Promise! I never overfeed and I do 50% wc every Monday. I found the same thing! It made me feel better but not good because I know that my poor guy is dying...I can just tell. He's uninterested and hanging on the bottom which isn't like him at all. He usually hangs up top in...

    Is my catfish choking?

Omg you should get some sort of medal for bravery and heroism!!! You did an EXCELLENT job! Such great advice given here (that I wasn't aware about the cories) and you took it and researched further and did what you had to do! And it turned out in your favor! And the catfish! Rip little Cory...

    My sorority rebuild

I think it's perfect for a beta sorority! I mean they are kind of the "dark queens" of the fish world!!!

Oh crud, look at my Oto

Thanks so much for the reply Tyler! Here's a shot of his belly, it's not very good but you can see where it's red. Poor little fella. He's hanging on the bottom gravel which he never does. He looks blind?! His eyes look funny. Today is water change day, I may take him out incase it's a...

Oh crud, look at my Oto

So about a month or so ago I started a thread called "oto advice" because I had one mysteriously die after about 7 or 8 months. I'm aware of their fragility and whatnot and always go the extra mile by cooking veggies to make sure they always had enough. Today I noticed my last remaining oto has...

It looks so dark and mysterious, like in a fairytale when things are about to get scary! I'm waiting for an evil queen to come out of the plants! Looks gorgeous!

My first planted tank - Fluval Flex 57L

Well they are two great looking little tanks! You will have a far easier time getting in and out of yours while cleaning and setting up and whatnot as the tiny opening in the edge makes it super difficult. I'd read that when deciding but I loved the look so much that I figured it was worth it...

    do i have endler's, guppie's, or a hybrid

oh well that was lucky!! They get along great with shrimp, that's what I have also!
  23. thrujenseyes

    do i have endler's, guppie's, or a hybrid

I agree with essjay. I have three in my tank that are almost identical to what you have and they were sold to me as endlers (from a very reputable LFS, not a chain). But I'm aware that there is only a tiny chance they are pure endler.

    My sorority rebuild

I'm so happy to see you rebuilding this set up! Again, I'm terribly sorry for the lost of the first one. I can't wait to see it come together. I'm always interested in fish tanks but there's just something about a beta sorority that is just so exciting and beautiful!

Looking Great!!! If you have any cycling questions be sure to post under the cycling topic. I had to ask a million questions when I cycled and these guys really helped me get thru it. Had it not been for this forum I'd have set my head on fire and put it out in my cycle gone wild tank (although...

Particular order in which to get different livebearer species?

don't be sorry! I know how frustrating and confusing cycling is but I just wanted to tell you that you're doing a really great job with it all! You're understanding far more than I did and you're asking all the right questions! Just a little pep talk from one who was there not long ago! Oh and...

    What the flup???

I have this weird dream/nightmare a lot that I see a tank somewhere that has little dogs swimming in it with fish. And I'm absolutely horrified. I question the owner of the tank and they tell me they were bread to live this way. I'm always in a panic and I want to take them out but they can't...

    Cull or not?

Aww poor baby. If it's not in any distress and it's eating and pooping I'd certainly keep the little guy. Looks like he beat some crazy odds so far, he deserves a fair shot.

    Blue Mystery Snail escaped!

Glad he's ok! He sure is pretty! I know that snails are wanderers but just make sure you're water parameters remain in check ... sometimes they'll try to jump ship if the levels are not to their liking.

    New to the forum!

Hello and welcome! I'm sorry to hear about your disability and struggles with depression. I've been thru struggles with it as well. I lost both of my parents to cancer by the time I was 25 and had a tough time for quite a while. Finding a hobby helps a lot! So welcome back to a super fun...

Particular order in which to get different livebearer species?

I followed the cycling instructions to the T, but I also had a thread going at the time with all of my inane questions because I had a really tough time understanding so much of it and everyone was so very helpful! I guess I didn't really have much to consider when stocking my tank because it's...
