Freedom is a unalienable right, not a priveledge. You need to discuss this with your school headmaster.

6-8 ml per WC since we have chlorine vs. chloramine. I believe you have to double the dose for chloramine.

    How much to add?

API Conditioner is pretty inexpensive. A $15 bottle will last me for a year I am guessing, with a 125 gal tank.

Losing you firearms in a boating accident is the response to the law when they come to confiscate them. Since I unfortunately lost mine, laws and regulations don't matter to me (or as the saying goes, No dog in this fight)

No worries, I didn't think you did it maliciously. Just something to think about in the future. I lost all my firearms in a boating accident while hunting Cichlids in Africa, so I have no dog in the fight

    How much to add?

I'm not sure it matters, but for a large (6 ft long tank), I use a syringe to blast a thin stream across the tank surface so the declorinator is distributed somewhat evenly. It is also more fun :)

Is the python actually worth it?

Other than flow rate reduction and storage, you can never have too much hose. I use my extra length to either increase my siphon drop, or I can run it to the front of my house and water plants. Of course, once outside the house you can attach a garden hose for drainage.

I agree. With all due respect, posting something clearly controversial when it is reasonably certain, due to forum rules, that your opinion cannot be discussed or debated is unfair.
  9. Oblio

    How much to add?

I dose the amount of water added. I assume the tank is 100% water (don't adjust for substrate etc) which will dose on the safe side. I add dechlorinator just before moving the siphon line to the tap.

Years ago, one of my stepdaughters friends had seen snow from the LA basin, but never been nearer than dozens of miles away. It was an experience to touch it for the first time. On the weighty issues ... I find it edifying, if kept light and friendly, or at least friendly, since I have come to...

That is admirable, I wish more youngun's had your morals. That being said, my guess is that they will tell you to keep it. The shipping costs to return and ship a new one is likely more than their margin. Plus, they will likely treat it as a returned item.

Nope, that is where we are now - Can't refer to some by their biological sex because they deem it hateful. To keep people from speaking accurately and truthfully, you simply deem it hateful. Have you seen the leaked Google code that suggests non-'offensive' words when editing Google Docs?

On a more humorous note, I watched a program that explored different non-verbal gestures worldwide. In one case (IIRC) the shrugging of shoulders meant 'OK' or 'Affirmative'. It showed a passenger in a taxi trike communicating with the native driver who repeatedly shrugged his shoulders when...

The problem with that is that it enables those who wish to maliciously undermine society to control the language, and a free people. There is a good reason (in the US) why there is a First Amendment.

It's not about feelings, it's the deliberate redefinition of words and then dictating how they can and cannot be used that I will not abide by. There is a litany of such words which I will not list. Suppose that the word Fish was appropriated by some group to mean (insert new derogatory...

Nope, it was a troll. I refuse to not use it when appropriate. BTW, this is the sign used while SCUBA diving to indicate that you are, well, OK :) The thumps-up sign is used to indicate, wait for it ..., surface.

I disagree and call Shenanigans (apologies to any Irish ;) ), I refuse to let certain groups redefine words and then tell me I can't use them because it is now offensive to them.

In engineering there is a push to rename the relationship between the controlling subsystem and the subsystem that is controlled. Examples are in electronics communication busses, and automobile braking systems. A similar usage for the main residential bedroom has also come under attack. The...

    Planted Bamboo leaves submerged?

Yeppers! I've got some Pothos also, they are hanging by the filter spillway which seemed to increase the root growth. Once they are large enough I'll move them and start some others by the filter.

Well, if you take that approach, nothing in the USA is unique  How about Constitutional Republic

    Planted Bamboo leaves submerged?

I've had mine for a few months and noticed that algae would coat the stems but was easy to clean. Now that the roots are growing, I'm interested to see if I can extend WC intervals a bit, not so much for the effort, but to conserve water - I usually change out 50-60 gallons each WC.

    Planted Bamboo leaves submerged?

Thanks Colin, I'll let them grow longer before I plant. As an aside for any reading this, moving them to the AC 110 filter bypass section helped the nitrate uptake as the new roots are taking off.

    Planted Bamboo leaves submerged?

I've been growing bamboo with the stalk and roots in my filter and it seems to thrive. Can it thrive if the leaves are submerged with the roots in the substrate?

Because we are fallen human beings. You can pay tribute to the good portions of an idea or culture, and reject the bad. The 60s counterculture gave way and planted the seeds of much of what ails our society today, but there are portions of it that are wheat amongst the chaff. You can admire...

We (USA) are not unique in that respect. e.g. A lot of Italian food was ripped off from the Greeks after they enslaved Greek cooks. Pastitsio -> Lasagna So here you have slavery AND cultural appropriation.

    US Capitol!

It is usually folly to view history thru the lens of modern times. e.g. Many revere the Spartans*, but they were brutal by todays standards. * - I'm confident that at some point they will be erased from history by certain groups.

Is the python actually worth it?

Love my Python that came with my used tank. Gravity drain only. Start siphon by simply filling the gravel vac with tank water, lifting up till water flows down the hose, then put vac end back in water. After many years the cap on the vac tube cracked, fixed with Gorilla glue. I drain...
