Most danios have barbels. One of the most dramatic ways of seeing them is when danios (for instance, small zebra danios) are looked at from above, while being in a plastic bucket. The barbels appear huge. And then, some species actually have big ones.

I prefer to attach together the pieces of wood to give the shape and position I want. Generally I use cable or other type of ties not glues. Then I position rocks and plants. Initially, additional rocks may be needed if using new wood. Free if you already have the wood.

I have never used that product and I believe I never will. What do you use it for in the sense of “for maintenance”? The product description speaks of reducing ammonia and nitrite. Your established BB do that for free. The rest (nitrate, hormones, other waste)….that’s the purpose of water...

The fx4 will be just fine, not too much. I used to have a fx6 and AQuaclear 110 in a 75. It is just aboutvsmart placement and types of intakes and outlets. Coupled with a prefilter, an aggressive tank water change regime, and frequent cleaning of the filter, the fx4 would be just fine.
