I can see from your other post that you've got lots of experience, but just wondering whether the substrate may have contributed to your deaths, I know active substrates have mixed reviews because of the way they can leech into the water column. I'm just theorising though, could be completely off!

Looks good from the pictures! Sometimes new plants do go through a melt so that may be what you're experiencing. Do you test your water parameters? As you have floating plants some liquid fertiliser may be good to have on hand as well.

Female bettas could still fight, female sororities are a tricky one to make work and usually needs lots of bettas with lots of space. As @WhistlingBadger said two bettas in a 20 gallon are going to come to blows in all likelihood.

Thats a very good age for a betta. No real advice other than perhaps try lowering the water so he doesn't have to swim so far to take a gulp of air and see if that helps. He looks in good condition from the picture so it may just be old age, but he's clearly been well cared for!

Sorry he's passed :( sometimes these things can just happen, maybe it was his time. Perhaps do a precautionary water change and keep a close eye on the test for the time being.

Have you had your cories a long time? It may be that if there's no other obvious illness among the others that this one may be coming to the end of his life. Are there any obvious signs of injury? I tend to agree that it might be more stressful to move him. Hopefully someone can give some ideas.

Got a bit of new tank syndrome going on. Ammonia is 0 but nitrite is testing about 0.25ppm, nitrate 10ppm. Big daily water changes the last two days not making a massive difference atm but we'll keep at it. Will check the new filter and see if it's got any gunk on it yet.

No advice (although I love ADF's and keep them myself) but do you remember what meds you used? That may help someone answer your question. I know a lot of fish meds can be toxic to frogs so might be worth tearing it down to be on the safe side?
