I see the electric blue acaras more and more at relevant stores. I do love the look of them. But I don't have the space for them. So, I'll just stick to enjoy watching them at stores.

That's definitely a young male Betta splendens. It happens quite often that when a retailers orders female bettas, that there can be young males among them. For young males loook like females before they'll show their male traits.

Thusfar, we still have not enough data to diagnose the cause. Cories won't be aggressive towards guppies.

This afternoon I’ve picked up my order of livebearers. Needed some fresh blood as additions for my current populations. In this case some cauliflower swordtails and Xenotoca doadrioi. Unfortunately, the males of the Xenotoca doadrioi were already dead at arrival. They’ll be re-ordered.

Had two friends over who are real fans of rare livebearers this afternoon. Had some good conversations and laughs. And they brought fish of mine back home.

Well in general, the chance that it will result in hybrids is small. And in case, it would happen, it's also important to know if the offspring will have an even or uneven number of chromosomes. That may tell us whether the offpsring will be fertile or infertile.

That's the main problem. They only know the big 4 and specifically the breeding forms of them. For within the big 4 when we speak about wild forms, there are also species that are hard to maintain. There are even many who call themselves a livebearer specialist but also only know the big 4. So...

Nope, not this one.... Within my circle of friends, there have been a number that are very negative about Temu. The order delivered didn't look like the picture. Or they had suddenly extra different items in their cart, generated by Temu itself. And some are still waiting for their order to come...

Same here. But I'm patient. Yes, there are also many people overhere who just think that every livebearer species is easy to keep. Even to seasoned keepers of rare livebearers there will be livebearer species that are a real struggle to maintain.

I did... Well, I do believe that gem stones have their own type of power. I also do visit wholistic and gem stone fairs and I look to see if there are any interesting stones. The colors you see in these koi are actually splinters of gem stones.

I'm a collector of small sculptures. And I recenty added some small koi sculptures with healing gem stones in them. I love them... I'm planning to buy me some more...

Assassin snails really do their job. Specifically with round shaped snails. Mine leave others nails with a similar shape like themselves alone overhere. But yes, also assassin snails can eat your plants if they're out of snails or waste (like e.g. dead plants, dead fish or food leftovers). They...

I don't do frequent water changes in my quarantine tanks... Which I also use as hospital tanks. The water parameters remain quite steady in there.

Don't they do something similar with meat chickens...?

I've got two steady quarantine tank... So, I can act very fast in case of need.
