Looking at pictures of Golden Eye Dwarf Ciclids, when I saw a picture of electric blues is anyone familiar with how Electric Blue Acaras came about???

I see the electric blue acaras more and more at relevant stores. I do love the look of them. But I don't have the space for them. So, I'll just stick to enjoy watching them at stores.

Had to purchase some livebearers again

Yes, they are. Actually, despite of the fact that I've wrote down X.doardioi, I still call them Xenotoca eisini, San Marcos. I'm a kind of old school at many levels. This goes also for scientific names. The ones I've orderd now are not wild caught but captive bred ones. I've got to agree with...

Had to purchase some livebearers again

This afternoon I’ve picked up my order of livebearers. Needed some fresh blood as additions for my current populations. In this case some cauliflower swordtails and Xenotoca doadrioi. Unfortunately, the males of the Xenotoca doadrioi were already dead at arrival. They’ll be re-ordered.

    What is a tropical aquarium?

The internet is full of incorrect info. One should really be careful whether info is correct or not. But also the commercial trade is guilty of spreading wrong information. And it starts with wholesalers. If someone reads up that the average or max age is 3 years for instance, and somebody else...

What are the chances of egg scatterers crossing, when there are several varieties in a tank???

Well in general, the chance that it will result in hybrids is small. And in case, it would happen, it's also important to know if the offspring will have an even or uneven number of chromosomes. That may tell us whether the offpsring will be fertile or infertile.

    Characodon ojo Garabato

That's the main problem. They only know the big 4 and specifically the breeding forms of them. For within the big 4 when we speak about wild forms, there are also species that are hard to maintain. There are even many who call themselves a livebearer specialist but also only know the big 4. So...

    New assets of sculptures

Nope, not this one.... Within my circle of friends, there have been a number that are very negative about Temu. The order delivered didn't look like the picture. Or they had suddenly extra different items in their cart, generated by Temu itself. And some are still waiting for their order to come...

    What is a tropical aquarium?

I totally agree with this. It's the same by saying: Is a fish a tropical or subtropical fish eventhough it's coming from a tropical country. It's the location within that country that makes a fish tropical or subtropical. The location determines whether we're dealing with tropical or subtropical...

    Characodon ojo Garabato

Same here. But I'm patient. Yes, there are also many people overhere who just think that every livebearer species is easy to keep. Even to seasoned keepers of rare livebearers there will be livebearer species that are a real struggle to maintain.

    New assets of sculptures

I did... Well, I do believe that gem stones have their own type of power. I also do visit wholistic and gem stone fairs and I look to see if there are any interesting stones. The colors you see in these koi are actually splinters of gem stones.

Molly is very big - normal??

Female mollies can store sperm packets for over a year without loss of quality of the sperm. Yes, but only when you keep one sex of one of them and the opposite sex of the other. If you keep both species while there are both genders present of both species, the chance that they'll crossbreed is...
