yup the filters are working properly but theres a plant thats about to die... every morning i have to take out dead leaves off it.

when i add in water condtioners, ammonia removers, or algae rid... the gouramis think its food and eats some of it, is this safe for the fish? and my tank has 0ppm of nitrite and 1ppm of ammonia how can this happen? what do i do now? thanks all sugestions would be greatly appreciated...

My Filter pumps 105 us gallons per hour, i had 8 rummynoses lost one about 2 weeks ago, i just only purchased the test kits a weeks ago they cant be too old.. and when i do water cahnges i just add pure tap water in there i didnt put in any chemicals to remove the chlorine ect sorry to hear...

Water test results: ammonia 1.5, nitrite well over 4 its been like this for the last 8 days, shouldnt it change a bit?

Yes im sure its nitrIte not NitrAte, actually i think its well over 4 because at 0ppm the colour should be clear and wen i tested the color is very dark pink.. and i rinsed the foam pads in tap water (woops) will the cycle take longer now since i rinsed out all the good bacteria?? thanks :D
