    Schooling fish options...

Err.... no. Siamese Fighting Fish is kept any old how in a slapdash way whereas it has rather accurate needs to thrive, in particular : - No bowl - No tank mate - pH 6-7 - GH KH below 8 - Temp 25-26°C/77-79°F - High protein pellet food (no meal food) - Live/frozen food A Betta can live, in...

    Severum don’t get along HELP

Hey @Helix1994 As they are getting big (up to 30 cm) to me, your tank is too small : no hiding places, not enough space to escape and run away. Substrate isn't suitable, neither are plastic plants. We need more details : ....Setup : Overall pics of the tank Why not live plants ? Nitrogen...

On the condition that you stop the pump, otherwise the current disperses everything. Trichogaster "dwarf gourami" lalius is territorial, will try to enlarge its territory and can be aggressive up to kill all tank mates. So : NO. Especially is a small tank.

    Schooling fish options...

To me it's a mistake to keep 2 schools of 2 different species even if they are relatively close. For fish wellfare it would be MUCH better to opt for ONE school of 15-20 Boraras brigittae that will thive this way so better than in 2 unbalanced schools.

    Schooling fish options...

Yes (?) on trio in 20H with no other bottom feeder : compete for food could lead to issues.

So we didn't read the same litterature  I always consider ADULT SIZE. I keep on saying 250 litre isn't enough. So let's take the least risk ;)

    Beta fish not moving

It means let water rest 72 hours if possible in blackness, to let chlorine and chloramine that burn gills evaporate on their own.

    Angelfish

Sorry to say this, but 250 litre isn't enough at all for Angels even young. They are territorial and aggressive fishes. Ramirezi are also territorial and often turn highly protector when spawning. This could all go bad. I encourage you to rehouse your Angels, keeping in mind they will grow 7 x 9...

    Beta fish not moving

Hello :) We need precise results (in numbers) on : pH GH KH ammonia nitrites nitrates. 70°F is definitely not enough for Betta that IS a tropical fish. He wants 77-78°F. Do you stand water 72 hours before any waterchange ? Or do you use a water conditionner against chlorine and chloramine ?

    C. hastatus prefers slow or even no current. C. habrosus prefers medium current and loves to play in. C. pygmaeus prefers slow current.

Java fern dislike to be planted too deeply. Leaves base (rhizome) must remain above ground.

Starting 5 gallon betta fish planted tank, I have questions!

@kateh very probably a bacterian bloom, happens often at aquarium start. Let it run on its own ;) Also check what fluval stratum substrate instructions are, sometimes it is recommended to waterchange with some "complete" commercial soils.

Getting my tanks in order! (I wanna hear your thoughts on my stocking and ideas)

Just in case, check their chalkyness with hydrochloric acid. Its holes are too small to hide the entire group. Shrimps live in colony.

Getting my tanks in order! (I wanna hear your thoughts on my stocking and ideas)

20 gallon long allows you to keep 15-20 Corydoras pygmaeus and shrimps. Dragon stone is beautiful but I'd rather go for smooth pebbles (not shingle from beach). You could choose dark fine sand to accentuate Cories, shrimps and plants.

Getting my tanks in order! (I wanna hear your thoughts on my stocking and ideas)

As far as I know Axolotl wants : Tank filled with 17 inches high of water not higher + a lid. Temp. 62 to 71 maximum. 72 hours rested water is usually suitable : pH 7.5 to 8 Hard 11-12 °gh and alkaline 6-7 °kh water Nitrates below 5 Ammonia Nitrites undetectable. Weekly change 20%. Many plants...
