These are a truly HUGE species of fish but they only jump when "spooked" and they are a naturaly nervous fish anyway. I have some good info on them tucked away in my fish book library somewhere so i'll dig it out and post anything that i think will be of interest to you all about them ;)

Yes there is a coupler that you can buy and any lfs should carry these............what you will get is like 2 little taps and you just plumb them into the airline and run them off to your filters adjusting the taps until both filters run equally, its really that simple :D , cost should be...

You could just double up on the AquaEL filters and try that, however i would still add an airpump and airstone just to be on the safe side :what: . Also if you get an airpump etc then you could take the air venturi off your filters and increase thier output as running these venturi gadgets...

Your filter is way too small for that size tank, may i suggest that you at least get another AquaEL Fan 1 or get a Fluval 2 or 3 plus internal filter as these are much better than the one you have (not that im knocking your set-up you understand). I have an AquaEL Fan 1 myself but i will only...

OK an airpump (interpet ap1) or similar will do just nicely in that size tank and a 6" airstone will be about the right size too, expect to pay around £10 for the airpump and £3 for the airstone approx. I dont think that you can overdo oxygen in your tank due to the relatively high stocking...

Your fish are suffering from the effects of lack of oxygen. Add an airpump and airstone A.S.A.P and do the usual water tests etc and report back the results if you would please :D Hope this helps ... pete

Lets see where do i start? lol.......................... :what: This will be my second largest tank next to my 6x2x2 and will eventually house (once its run its cycle) my Clown Knifefish, False Tigrinus, some large Pleco's (i really cant get enough of those fish :D ) and maybe a Perricthys...

Also once you have moved the tank get some Ancistrus from your lfs and put them in there as they are the best algae eaters known to man lol, they will clear up your tank in no time at all but remember that when theyve finished cleaning up for you that you will have to supply an algae supplement...

Oh yes i forgot...................i'll be running one of my fabled fluidized bed filters on it too...........just to keep G.L happy :P :laugh: :laugh:

NO a tank can never be over filtered..........and the flow rate for a Fluval 404 is 1300 lph (litres per hour), i use one of these my self but be warned!!!!!!!!! the water output flow is very strong in anything less than a 6 foot tank so if you wanna keep plants etc and fish that like slow...
