    Is this dropsy?

Yes I think so, the darker colors that may have initially had you worried could just be her coloring. Any symptoms besides being round?

    Is this dropsy?

The fish does look bloated, I would skip feeding for 2 days and watch for improvement. I've noticed every betta I bought from petsmart always needed to be fasted once i bring it home, I think the employees sympathize and overfeed them locally

Another question: what do you do with your dead fish?

I bury the pets in the garden also, we actually have accidentally buried up bones while planting a fern before. Made me feel awful😓

Stocking a 37g TopFin Bubble Wall

I heard great things about bristle nose, I have a sailfin and a clown, neither are great cleaners lol I've never had cory but I know that they are great for sifting sand! I'm looking into getting a school for my sanded tank next month 😊 keep in mind cory do better in softer water than...

    Disinfecting advice

About a month ago now, one of my bettas had columnaris. Made a full recovery and I'm confident in taking him out of the hospital tank. His main tank has been running with filter, plants, shrimp and pond snails the whole time hes been gone. I haven't added any medication to his main tank because...

Crayfish naturally eat fish, i would do a crayfish with minnows maybe but my moms caught and ate her guppies regularly. Ended up having his own tank eventually

    Poorly betta

Heres a very helpful link, when I had a betta with ich, i did the moving method listed in this article. That betta is still alive and well https://www.fishforums.net/threads/what-is-ich.7092/

    Sick female betta

Welcome, I'm sorry about your betta. It may help to identify an illness by several things. If she is in a community tank, please list the parameters of the water, the tank inhabitants (living and non) is the tank cycled? How often do change water? Is only dechlorniated water added? Pictures may...

    Stocking 123L and 57L

I think the rams would do well in the larger tank with the Cory's and the the phantoms. The other two schools of neon tetra should be fine in the 57L. You could probably add a couple cory to the school in the 123L also and still be alright with filtration. Unsure if you mean you've got guppies...

My betta has an eye issue?

Sometimes we think were doing fish favors by buying the sick ones, I reccomend just buying the healthy ones in the future, itll save you time and heartbreak. Hope your betta gets better!

Gourami Fin Rot or Fin Nipping?

A good method is whenever your fish seems to start getting ill, up the water change. Try to do one every week, 30-50% clean water improves health and can help prevent illness. "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure" make sure the water is dechlorniated before going into the tank...

    MY 29 GALLON GUPPY TANK!!!!

It looks like its flourishing! What do they call the guppy type? I've never had guppies but they are so appealing. I may convince my mom to add some of those to her guppy tank haha

Gourami Fin Rot or Fin Nipping?

Could you post your water parameters? Nitrate, nitrite, ammonia, general hardness etc.. how often do you do water changes? that may help someone diagnose

    MY 29 GALLON GUPPY TANK!!!!

That silvery blueish guppy is really pretty. I don't think I've seen a guppy like it! A solid background would look nice, maybe help with your algae also. What kind of plant is that?

Glass v Plexiglass v Open Top

My 75 is lidless where as all my others have lids. The tank does lose water to evaporation very fast even though that tank is in AC, 68°F room temp. I do water changes in the 75 once a week and lose about 1.5-2 gallons of water between changes from evaporation

Way to much going on for my puny fish keeping brain

Cuttlebones are pretty cheap on a side note, I was advised by a member to also place a piece in my filter box as well as inside the tank for snails. Also don't forget they do need additional food, for longevity it's a good idea to offer them a variety of foods and not solely rely on algae...

    FISH TAIL GONE

I would start water changes to prevent any chance of infection, any aggressive tank mates? Almost looks like bites since it's so symmetrical, if it were fin rot I would say the edges are frayed and shredded more sporadic

    55 Gallon Stocking Ideas?

    Bettas fins too heavy?

Do you know your water parameters? No2, No3, nh... is he a butterfly or rose tail? I can't remember which one it is but I heard a lot of fish having issues because of the weight of their fins. If it is that there isn't much to do besides reduce filter flow (you said you have a sponge so...

If you think the sharks are sick you should return them asap so the store can treat them, along with the pleco since you're already making the trip. Is your question about what's going on with your snails?

    Brown Algae Control

Regular weekly water changes-I do 50% a week, it depends on your stocking. If there are light stocked fish you could maybe get away with 20 or 30% a week and scheduled light should help, so should adding more live plants if you can. The algae on the glass can be easily removed with a scouring...

    Aquarium or terrarium?

I did the water test and it didn't leak, just waiting to get motivated to rinse sand and then I'll start a cycle. I don't know what to stock yet, I'll post a separate thread once the cycle is complete and I buy more plants, (with my water parameters)for ideas 😄

    female betta question(s)

I still think females should be housed individually or with shrimp or a snail. I tried to have a sorority, I planted the tank, even added silk plants too. A bunch of caves and things to give each fish a place to hide. They were fine for a couple months but then I started noticing nipped fins...

    Amazon sword baby

I manually clean the front glass once every month, the lights on a timer in this tank, it's my dining room. So the tank light is on 8 hours then room light stays on 2 hours after the led is off, then I turn the room light off after we last eat. I've actually not had any algae in this tank except...

Omgosh how precious, I can't wait until mine do too. From what I've read they eventually grow their own root system, perhaps there is another way though to separate them now. Waiting to see what someone else advices! Congrats on being a sword grandparent haha
