Ouch! I hope you had a spare :sad: The heater is a Tetratec 200W. As for the background? I liked the depth it added, but you're right it did take up a fair bit of space in the tank. Either way, it seems the heater decided for me, since it melted a hole through it!

Yep, it did. The bg was attached to the back (by the manufacturer) with 5 silicone blobs. I could re-attach it, but the point was more that it seems potentially a bad idea/design. Because it's so buoyant, it seems to pull itself away from the tank.

I just woke up to this scary scene! The hot part of the heater was approx 40% in the water but it was still operating undamaged. The tank temperature had dropped approx. 1.5c As much as I like the background, I think I'll be painting the back of the tank black :-(

I received a Lido 120 in dark wood a few days ago. Really nicely built, has a definite feeling of quality to it - especially after playing with cheap nano setups for the last 6 months.

Can't believe nobody has gone for this; just bought a new Lido about 2 days before it went up here, kicking myself :crazy:

I've had some in mine for a few months now and it doesn't make much of a mess when disturbed. The worst part is if you accidentally crush some outside of the tank! ;-)

Hello! I recently joined and have a male betta, too.

Gravel, on account of continuously syphoning sandy residue out of my old tank. User error, no doubt... :P

I measure dechlorinator at .1 ml amounts using a 1 ml syringe. I picked up 8 of them in various sizes from 1 ml - 10 ml for about £1.50 GBP on eBay. Good investment IMO.

Would love to take the Eheim Liberty 2040.
