I am thinking of buying an Aquarium. At the moment looking a Fluval Roma 90 and Juwell Lido 120.
Have read that the lights often fail on Juwell Tanks, but the Lido is bigger capacity
Any recommends or others I should be looking at.

But both tanks are 60cm or 61cm wide and in an ideal situation I would really like 70cm and 35cm depth,
with a good height. Is there somewhere you can get a good quality custom made tank
without the price shooting though the roof.

Thanks

One of my tanks is a Juwel Lido 120 litre and it has been fine. Yes, my lighting unit failed after five years but I replaced it with two side-moounted flourescents and everything is fine. The filter system works very, very well and the powerhead is very reliable; mine is seven years old with it's original impeller and it's still inaudible at 1 metre distance. I got a bigger tank to keep my clown loaches in but retain the Juwel to keep my eighteen black phantom tetra's. It takes me ten minutes a week to maintain the filter, clean the motor and replace 40% of the water. Virtually fuss-free fishkeeping.

I received a Lido 120 in dark wood a few days ago. Really nicely built, has a definite feeling of quality to it - especially after playing with cheap nano setups for the last 6 months.

You'll enjoy it.

PS I have been running mine now without the carbon for two years so if you've no nasties to remove then not using carbon will save you a bomb.

I would never buy a Juwel again. My lights failed on me, twice. There are four tubes in the trigon 350 in two units. £200 for both sets of lights each time. Actually, they failed four times, last two times I fixed them myself.
I've took a severe dislike to anything Juwel after that. I find their filters are rubbish, best off pulling it out and getting an external.
