    Filters

im with t1karmann on this one , the pro 3s are much better hence the price, the media is also beter with the eheim, with the tetratec you get plastic bio media, with the 2080 you get proper ceramic media. the price reflects the quality :good:

    Tetratec Ex700

the ex1200 would be fine, you can turn the flow down if it is too high, also if you upgrade tanks in the future, you will not have to upgrade ur filter! http://www.warehouse-aquatics.co.uk/tetrat...ilter-900-p.asp you can get them for £65 there.

    Tetratec Ex700

your tank is 106 litres and a ex1200 can do up to a 120 litre tank so it should be ok, good choice on the tetratec aswell, they are reliable filters!

    Fluval 305 Set Up

to be honest , i wouldnt use a polish pad, but if i was going to i would put it in the top basket. You will find that if you use a polish pad it will clog very easily and you will have to be changing it every fortnight, which can be a pain!! i dont use a polish pad in my 405 and my water is...

true, a much larger tank is needed to keep a silver arowana adequately, a 8ft X 3ft is considered a bare minimum

    Upgrading To A Bigger Tank

i think its coz the tank is drilled for the fluval external, therefore the cabinets would have holes in accordingly, so any old stand would not do unless you drill holes into it.

    Fx5 Modification :)

good idea. Im might copy your idea and see if it makes a difference on the flow, ill just have to order some bio balls and sheet filter wool.

    Fx5 Modification :)

looks great , but yono the input to the filter ?? i take it you have removed that tube right?? Would'nt it be an idea to incorporate a spraybar to spray the water all over the top of the media. because if you leave it how it is, surely the water will just get sprayed down in one direction and...
