I'm getting a 300g tank and i'm going to use my 180g tank for it's sump and i needed ideas on how to divide into sections and what goes in each section. I was thinking of having 6 sections 2 for pumps, skimmer, and charcoal stuff like that and the rest of the sections for growing stuff.

Just use sheet glass secured in place with aquarium silicon :) sounds like a big project, keep us updated!

Thats good, that means you can stock for a 480g body of water :)

How big is a 300 gal tank? I can't imagine an 180 gal sump. 6x2x2? ZOIKSSS!!!!

I think a standard 300 gallon is 96" x 24" x 30" (these could vary ofcourse but I think this is the most common/regular size).

the tank comes in 2 and half weeks. the sump is 6 feet long 18inches wide and forgot hight. But i need info on how to use lighting for growing corals and keepign live stuff in sump and how i should organize it and stuff. plz send me info on this.

No experience with this, but the chaps and chappettes in the Salt water section will know how to guide you. Might be worth your while reading through all the stickies first to get a good general idea.

im no expert on sumps but a 180g sump on a 300g tank seems a bit over the top
what you gonna keep in the 300?

true, i was told the bigger the better when planning my sump. however , i will be using a 175gallon sump on a 450 gallon show tank.
