I had the same problem and really realized it when the tetras started skimming the surface. I didn't have enough agitation with my filter (turned out to be sucky) so I added a bubble stone and it fixed the issue.

Sunday I got a new 60 gallon tank. It says 60 gallons on the tag, but the calculator put it at 64.8g or 252.2 liters. At any rate it's 48x24x13. I just wanted to show a pic of it so far (doing a fishless cycle) and I'll be adding a piece of driftwood to the left side of it after it's done...

I got a new 60 gallon tank today. I am upgrading from my current tank. My only problem is that the paper insert they had on the inside of the tank has left adhesive and stickyness on the inside of the tank glass. Had it been on the outside that wouldn't have been an issue but this definitely...

I got this pleco the other day, the LFS employee told me that it would only grow to about 4". I know that normal plecos grow well over a foot and that's why I wanted this one. However, the only pleco I can find that only grows 4" is the bristle nose pleco. Could this one really be a bristle...

I would use them in my tank. But make sure to boil the items first. Wouldn't want your fish getting any germies from them. :)
