I have two.They are about as friendly as an oscar,fearless,lots of attitude,and they all are all slightly different as far as colour,size,shape.I have not found a better fish personally.Your right they are expensive.

sryan,I've had these fish long enough that covering the tank will only increase "spaz" as now they don't see any activity till you take the cover off.I believe let them get familiar with your day to day activity and that will only get less imo.I don't think that will ever stop in a high traffic...

My red bellies are now 4 years old and about twice a week when you turn on the lights they go crazy.Every time they do this there is a new scrape on their foreheads.I have to believe this is normal as they are now 12 inches long and in very good condition.I have two.

I'd put them together,but have a divider ready in case their is any problems.

I know this is a debatable topic,but I believe it gives them a bit of a more natural challenge.I only do this once a week and they seem to like it.I have two suppliers of rosies and feeders I use,and I have to say no feeders have died in their tank for about 3-4 years.Just my $.02 cents worth :good:

Isolate the feeders in a seperate tank for at least a week,than safe to go

I have two red belly's now around 12" in a 75 gal.bought 4 years ago when they were the size of a quarter.They get along together great,they live with 2-6" red devils,6 exodons,1-3" flowerhorn.Very little sparring or fighting.I think the key is to keep the piranha's fed.

Just can't go together,if you continue to keep them together the angels will be gone.Have you considered a divider,but how big is your tank?

I've found in my two larger tanks I have 6 exodons in each tank and they school fine together with very little conflict.Was thinking 10 might be a little much for a 20 gal tank :good:

My wife has two with 2 platys one golden puffer,and a blue lobster for two months now,all is good :good:

What I have learned is they need at least a 20 gal. tank on there own.They do get fairly big.

I also have 6 exodons with my 2- 12" piranhas,2 small flowerhorns[2"],2- 6" red devils,1-jellybean,6- electric blue lobsters.All is very well.exodons are not bad I just believe they bring calmness and very little conflicts with other fish.Just my 2cents worth.

Seriously,I have had 6-3"exodons in with my red devil and flowerhorn since they were 2" long.No problems than and definetly not now since the rd and the fh are 5+inches now.

8inary how do you keep your fish so lively?I thought you had to half stave them for that type of action?.Unless that is just the nature of the fish you have.Thanks for your replies. :good:

How about 6 exodons.Middle tank swimmers.

My tank is a 55gal.It is being shared with the flowerhorn,red devil,6 exodons,3 chinese algae eaters,electric blue lobster.But your tank is huge and very active.How do you keep all the fish moving?Was that an eel I saw. :good:

I believe they were bred with red devil,blood parrot,and possibly more than a few to get a fish that is colorful,fearless,friendly,and just one heck of a attitude.Thanks for your feedback.
