I don't know what it is but mine do it quite often aswell, they also circle eachother like they are chasing eachothers tails lol, I don't know if it's males showing off to eachother or some kind of breeding ritual, hopefully someonne will have the answer! :rolleyes:

I should have mentioned aswell I've got a week until i'm going to need the new filter in my 20L tank, /?I currently have it running in my 110L tank. would it be ok to run it for a week then transfer it to the 20L and transfer 20L's of tank water with it, and add my shrimp then?

sorry yes I am keeping the current tank. Only problem in exchanging filter material is that the new fiter is pretty small compared to my current filter.

I just dont to add too many thats all, what age do they normally start to pair up? if I end up having 2 pairs would they be ok in they same tank? How do you sex adult rams?

I have blue strip LED lights and I cam hoghly recomend them, they really highlight a blue stripe on my harlequin rasboras when they are on and means I can watch my fish after dark, I'm sure they would be great for people with nocturnal fish aswell!

I dont think you canhave more than 1 dwarf puffer in that size tank unless it was very heavily planted, as dwarf puffers are aggressive towards eachother, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong lol. I'm just saying what I've read on here before

I've just tested the pH and its 7 not 6!!! I don't know the kh or gH as I dont have a test, I only know it's hard water because of the white sediment which gathers on the tank or kettle etc

think the fish should be ok because the pH will change gradually, I had harlequins when I added my ,opani wood which changed the pH and the were unaffected, as long as the gourami's are not too pH sensitive then I would say it's fine

Im not sure to be honest, but i think most wood will normally release tannins into the water (which turn the water a brownish colour) and if you soak it for a couple of weeks it rmoves alot of the tannins but not all, so overall it means if you put the wood in straight away then you'll get...

When you add water and it stays clear after say 5 seconds of allowing the sand to settle I would say then that the sand is ok, presonally I soaked mopani wood for 2 weeks, but could reallh have done with soaking it for another week or two, I'm not sos sure with bogwood

I would say for very small fish boilong them would be as good as bashing thm with a blunt object, I would say boiling is not acceptable for a large fish though as it would take longer for the fish to die, the age old method of knocking a fish on the head ( for a large fish) to kill it is ok in...

It would be a much quicker death to kill it with a quick blow, ie using a rolling pin, not nice to do but better for the fish, have you tried posting on the emergency forum to see if there is a way to save your fish?

It depends on the size og the fish as to how quickly it will die in frozen water a asmaller fish will lose body heat alot faster than a larger one so it would be more humane to kill a smaller fish in this way than a larger one
