    cichlid tank

    I'm planning on starting a Cichlid tank with approximately the same number of fish as well and I'll probably go with a 55 gallon tank. The more room the better. Just make sure you have good filtration.

    Noisy Fluval 404

    That's one of the major reasons that is putting me off from buying the Fluval 304. I read reviews that the impeller is really fragile and is susceptible to problems. I'm wondering if I should go for an Eheim. Hmm...

    The Ebo Jager 150w has an integrated numbered thermostat. I've heard great things about Eheim. Thanks for the links, but I'm from the US. :D Does anyone else have any input about which filter I should get?

    Isn't a cannister filter one that you can lay down behind/under the tank somewhere? I'm still learning about the different types of Cichlids, but I'm leaning towards the more aggressive ones; perhaps a few Convicts, Jack Dempseys, Green Terrors, and maybe Oscars.
