So is it ok to feed my fish brine shrimp?

Just to clarify a few points in the recipes; Would frozen shrimp be ok to use? The liquid multi vitiamins, can they be the ones they are designed for children in chemists?

Yep they are the yellow ones :) The stripes on the purple and cream ones are vertical.

To be honest, I'm not to sure of the names... Do you know any sites with pictures on so that I can identify them. I have 2 albinos, 2 yellow ones with a back strip on, 1 purple and black striped one, 3 cream and black striped ones if that helps.

Im not aware that you can buy a conditioner that will remove Ammonia from water. If your tank is well established and you only do a 20% water change a week it shouldn't cause any problems as the ammonia will be very diluted and the bacteria will convert it quick.

My breeding pair of Angles acted exactly like that just after they first bred, went on for about a week after that they where fine again.

I dont think that is possible, ich is a water parasite which needs to find a fish to live on in a very short period of time. It has a long life cycle i colder waters, at body temperature it would be an extremely short life cycle.

Its exactly 3 feet long, I thought an Oscar needed a min of 50g

would they out grow the tank though? How many would fit in?

Update; The male has chased the female out of the corner, she is on the other side of the tank....if she goes near the eggs the male chases her away.

My angel fish spawned yesterday they have been guarding there corner all day fighting off the other fish but now they seem to be locking mouths alot and fighting....whats wrong with them?

I wouldnt put them in the fridge, that water will go cold and they will probably die. If you keep them to long before putting them into your aquarium you might find a couple of them turn into mosquito's.

Not sure what that is..... someone else might be able to help you on that. The other thing you could try is urinating in your tank....urine is ammonia I think...

One way to check(I wouldnt sniff it) is to shake to bottle, if its just ammonia and water there wont be any foam at the top, if there is its got something else in it. Thats not a 100% accurate though, just a guide.

That Max Power Ammonia is just pure ammonia about (10%) and water, someone on here(cant remember who) e-mailed the company for the ingredients....

Thats absolute bull****, just a selling technique. Ammonia is given out through the fishes gills and waste whilst nitrate is a byproduct of ammonia(converted by beneficial bacteria) Nothing to do with the gravel, its the bacteria that does all the chemistry, not fancy gravel.....bacterial will...

I personally think it best to have it lying horizontal near the bottom rather than vertical because its more efficient that way because cold water sinks to the bottom.

I use declorinator(my LFS's own make) but still leave the water 48 hours in the hope that any potential parasites will die off in that time.

Have you added fish yet? You could add some gravel or some filter media from a well established tank to help it along other wise keep it warm and the water well oxygenated, maybe add a pump.

Thats normal, make sure you leave some algae on the back wall, it keeps them healty. Its only if they are "darting" up and down the sides as if they wanna get out you need to be worried.

I think neons have a high chance of having parasites/illnesses as they are mass produced and have a high faitality rate, if you bought 12 neons 2 would almost definatly show a sign of illness.
